Gambians, what are your thoughts on beans?
I'm on a mission to go around and ask each country subreddit what people think about beans (my favorite meal), just to see how people like or dislike them all around the world out of curiosity and for fun. If you like beans, hate them, they are a big part of the culture, anything else, just share your thoughts! 🫘
Hello Gambians! Tell me what you people have in mind about beans :D
I would like to add some fun extra speech but I don't know... I love that Senegal is like an apple and Gambia is a little worm sticking out of it on the map

In The Gambia, beans are a popular food because they are delicious, affordable, and filling. Many people eat them for breakfast because they are cheaper than many other meals and can keep you full for hours. Life is difficult for many people here because jobs are hard to find and the cost of living is a challenge. Some people depend on financial support from relatives abroad just to get by. I am also facing these difficulties myself. So, for many Gambians, beans are more than just food; they are an affordable way to start the day and manage life when money is tight.

Beans are essential here. Stewed black beans with wonderful seasoning served in a small baguette (tapalapa). Very common breakfast meal. The Gambia was a British colony after all. I personally enjoy the Nyebe (beans). Sometimes you might bite into an undercooked one and it will crunch your teeth. Â
