Really gotta wonder where some of these folks are getting the money from.

Of course these could also be older purchases from the before-times when 5090s were "only" $2000 (msrp), but you had to win the lottery against the botters to have the chance to buy one. Or they could be friends/family second-hand purchases, where folks are less concerned about profit.

I mean, I worry that many are likely poor financial decisions. (Maxing out a credit card).

I bought mine with a corporate bonus back in 2025.

It wasn't fun but it also wasn't that bad. I just kept calling Best Buy and eventually I got through (~1 month of trying). And there was a period of time where you could non FE's for $2.5k easily. Honestly kinda regret not buying a 2nd for my sister since prices aren't going down for years.

They're running up credit card debt. They've decided they'd rather tank their credit score and work into their retirement years because they wanted their vidya games to look prettier.

Bullshit. I bought a gainward 5090 for 2400 € beginning this year. They were even selling for less than 2000€ over weeks/months. Like always, people just want to buy when they are priced out.
