Lig - IDE-style autocomplete for your Linux terminal.

Hey Guys I wanted to share this project that I'm doing for the couple days.
I've been a MacOS user for the last couple years, and used to use Fig, that then became Amazon Q, and then Kiro.

Now I changed to Linux and found some issues...

The first problem is that, with Kiro, I need to install a bunch of things, and didn't work very well and the second problem was support support to Linux.

I found https://github.com/StanMarek/ghost-complete but it doesn't support Linux, so I decided to make a Linux version.

Fill free to test it, and give a feedback:

Looks really cool! Any plans to add fish support?

I just added fish support in a PR. It doesn't use the Fish completion engine, mostly because the fish completions can cause performance issues that I need more time to figure out.

Have you considered creating a Nix flake for it?

I'm not the original author, just a random redditor. I run Ubuntu so I'd have to test with Nix in a VM. But I could probably do that tonight.

Nice that it's a PTY proxy with no daemon, so it works in Ghostty and on Wayland without anything terminal-specific. The fallback to parsing --help and man pages, cached per executable version, is a smart touch for the long tail of commands that Fig specs don't cover.

How do you handle redrawing under the popup when something like vim or tmux is running inside the PTY and switches to the alternate screen? That's the part I'd expect to get tricky with a screen model that restores content afterwards.
