Cathkin Braes - Car punctures

• Upvotes

For anyone getting car punctures up the cathkin braes last few months from screws spread out on the parking spaces (seems to be targeting the parking spaces across from golf club). Here is who is responsible. Caught him today. Cleared parking spaces of screws then watched, seem him
appearing round a car looking suspicious. Went over to that car after he left and found 3 screws. I've been narrowimg it down to who was doing it as police scotland not looking into it.

Video also available of him saying he was only looking for screws. Lying C***.

The Parking in This City Just Gets Worse by the Day

It baffles me why anyone would think it’s ok to park like this. More or less completely blocking the pavement so that pedestrians need to go single file through the gap. No space of course for anyone on a mobility scooter or with a pram.

Hey guys! I hope it’s okay to post this here.

In what I can only assume was a fugue state, I bought tickets to James Blake in Glasgow earlier this year. I planned to fly over and watch it but and attend the concert cba.

Does anyone want to go? I have two tickets and it’s at Galvanizers Yard 21st October 7pm. Tickets are free of course.

Let me know!

Toilets in Glasgow Green

Had to stop for the toilet. My shock when you had to pay 20p for the toilet. So being the nonconformist I am, I paid for all 4 toilets and left sticks in the doorway to keep the door open. Everyone can use the toilet for free. Viva la revolution everyone

Anyone got a decent “if I ever become homeless” backup plan? 😂

Landlord’s screwed me over, so I’ve given notice. Looking around west Scotland and rooms are £650 /800 up now. For a room! I thought £500 was reasonable for a nice clean room in a house with bills included. but apparently I’m living in the past.
Just to be clear, I’m fine, not in any danger or asking for charity. I work full time on a decent wageI’m just fed up with everything being overpriced and don’t fancy paying silly money for a room or a flat but they are worse, I am saving to buy next year. Everything is overpriced so on principle I’m not going passed my budget.

Considering living in my car for a year. Got showers at work and could use a 24-hour gym. I’m barely home anyway, so somewhere safe to park and sleep is the main challenge. Also it’s probably going to be cold so the timings not the best.
Anyone done it, or got a weirdly well-thought-out backup plan they fancy sharing? Cheap accommodation ideas welcome too—ideally before I start calling the passenger seat my spare bedroom. Just thought it would be interesting to see other people back up would be.

Recommendations: Disability discrimination lawyers

I’m looking for recommendations for a lawyer within Greater/Glasgow area who has experience in dealing with disability discrimination cases.

I have spoken with the Legal Services Agency in Glasgow, but they are inundated with potential cases and mine is in a list waiting to be looked at. They recommended that I look for someone else in the meantime as they can’t guarantee they’ll be able to help within the timeframe i.e., the deadline for taking a discrimination case to court.

It would likely also require someone who can take on legal aid clients - it’s a big ask, I appreciate that it’ll narrow things down significantly.

Thank you for any recommendations or just advice in general.

Edit: this is regarding a customer-local authority issue, not workplace! I should’ve stated this originally, sorry

Doner kebab similar to Istanbul?

Hi everyone, as many know by now Istanbul has closed down and so I’m on the hunt for doner kebab that is similar to this, if anybody has recommendations? Their Doner had a different texture and taste to anywhere else that I’ve tried and I can’t seem to find anywhere that is similar to Istanbul…

Polis had no idea what was going on but there was some fire, enough to warrant 4 police cars, an ambulance, 3 fire engines and a ladder truck.

Poor sods at the Glasgow fire brigade must never get any rest!

Places that clean leather jackets?

Hello, I just bought a leather jacket off Vinted and I was wondering if anyone knew of places that are able to clean them.

Also If you know how much they charge roughly that would be great too.

The Glasgow Bell's event in Drygate last night

Anyone there?

It was a debate/panel discussion with the title "Is Glasgow Finally on the up?"

They put forward the idea of Schrödinger’s Glasgow - where Govanhill is simultaneously a tip, and also one of Time Out's coolest neighbourhoods.

Panellists were Emily Cutts from G20 Youth Project, Darren McGarvey (author and lots of other stuff), and Dr Andrew Hoolachan (U of G senior lecturer on urban studies).

I thought it was tremendous. Well hosted, well run, absolutely mobbed, lots of great discussion which was interesting.

Really glad The Bell put this on and are talking about doing more of the same.

place in public to meet someone for a serious/emotional discussion

hey, so i haven’t spoken to my mum in about 2 years, she’s recently reached out looking to reconcile and i’m open to giving her the chance, but i don’t want her knowing where i live, so ill need to meet her in public, im imagining it’ll be a pretty personal, emotional and difficult conversation so i need to go somewhere that’s private and quiet enough to have that sort of thing, but im really drawing a blank on where to go, does anyone have any suggestions?

Where have all the jobs gone?

I know it’s always been a bit tight finding work in Glasgow proper, but it’s been a while since I’ve been on the market and is it just me or is absolutely no one interested in responding to an application? Plenty of companies hiring on Google jobs but none of them willing to talk back.

I’ve heard the problem is that everyone’s got Claude working for them sending off automated job apps to every place in town, flooding the market, an now I’m really starting to believe it. How are people fighting this? Where else should a girl be looking? Indeed, LinkedIn, Google Jobs, none have turned up fruit. Are there other forum boards we should be checking? Other areas?
