Glitch Story I heard a voice yell “WAKE UP” when I was completely alone
A few years ago, around 2023–2024, I was sitting in bed slightly zoning out when I suddenly heard a man’s voice yell “WAKE UP.” It sounded like he was literally right next to me, like he yelled directly into my ear. I was completely alone. There’s no way it was one of my neighbors, it was way too loud, I’m on the second floor and nobody was even outside. I still think about it all the time. I have no idea if it was a hallucination or what, but I’ve never heard that voice again or experienced anything like it. I wasn’t even tired or that zoned out.
Sometimes I think about those theories where you’re actually in a coma and everything you’re experiencing is happening in your head, and that experience really makes me wonder about it………

Could be sleep paralysis.

Exploding head syndrome.
The sound can be anything - an explosion, a doorbell (with various different versions), someone yelling or just unexplainable loud sound.
Not really a glitch in the matrix.

Yeah mine is usually a car crash style *bang* First time it happened I couldn’t sleep for literal days. I was petrified.

Happens to me too but it's usually just someone screaming my name but in reality nobody screamed my name

Did anything happen after? Was there any reason you needed to be alert? I mean it's possible someone/something was warning you or alerting you, but most likely it's exploding head syndrome.

Happens to me a lot but it's my name that gets yelled into my ear. I think it's audible hallucinations, not sure.

Auditory hallucinations when you're in a sleepy state. I hate when that happens.

May be, it was someone from the other side trying to reach out to help.

Scary and memorable but likely a product of our malformed lizard brains responding to danger, real or imagined, and cooking up a wild auditory hallucination while it was prepping to shut down for the night.

This has happened to me as well! I was 12 and I told my parents and they sent me to therapy like I was crazy or something

I fell asleep driving once and usually my eyes close and I jump back awake well this time I had to be out for like 20 seconds, and I woke up to “wake up” I heard it in my head I thought, but then I heard the song on the radio said “wake up” in the chorus but still I believe stuff like this happening is your guardian angels or god protecting you

Have a look into the Third Man Phenomenon. The Why Files did a great episode on this. We are not alone and there are beings trying to help us.

Your brain can do this when falling asleep. I've woken up to a loud HEY!!! right in my ear. That was really scary, but it was just my brain being weird. I've also heard a news reporter talking when I lay my head on the pillow, and stopping when I lifted my head. I couldn't hear what he was actually saying.

I have this a lot. But it's a voice calling my name. Happens once or twice a year for as long as I can remember.

Not quite sleep paralysis but very much in the same vein, the same happened to me when I had moved to a new house and heard the most realistic sounding, unhinged witch laughter coming from the literal edge of my bed. Sat there in shock for a few minutes and ended up sleeping on the couch that night.

I had one yesterday hearing a guys voice shout,”DONT FORGET THE BOAT!” My eyes immediately opened and froze as that voice echoed in my head.
I know that sounds random, I don’t have a boat. But sometimes I think it’s my mind hallucinating when this thing happens.

happened to me once, like last year I think? I was taking a nap at like 2-3pm and woke up to a super clear voice of someone who wasn’t there saying “I’m home.” and it freaked me out so fucking much.

I used to have my name said in my ear really loudly in my ear. Male voice randomly while in a deep sleep and be woken up a lot as a child to teen years. I don’t know why but always startled me awake for sure.

This reminds me of a dream i had a couple years ago when I used to sleep on the top bunk of a bed with my sister below me. I suddenly saw myself frome behind my own head (like if the wall where my pillow was had a camera on it) and I saw a kind of grey looking hand reach through the bars super slowly and tap my shoulder 4 times really fast. I literally sat up and looked down at the side my sister got out of bed from, thinking that she was waking me up for something important. She was still asleep under me.

You were zoning out, essentially falling asleep. Your brain will create crazy scenarios when sleeping with so many different people, places and voices, so it creating a voice telling you to wake up isn’t such a weird idea.
I sometimes happen to hear loud bang as if someone shot a gun next to me, when falling asleep. I’ve never been to combat zone, don’t have PTSD and I’m not afraid of dying to a gun fire, yet somehow that happens every now and then.
Don’t worry about it, it’s just your brain doing stupid shut.
