Heard deadbolt unlock on its own.

Hello everyone, I just discover this sub and have read through so many interesting stories, some of which are very similar to experiences I have had, which is crazy. However, I do have one that has bothered me since I was a junior in high school. I lived across the street from an AMPM that I used for late night snacks often. One night, when my mom was out of town and my dad was in his usual drunken sleep, I snuck out to get some snacks. When I came home, I discover that my deadbolt lock had somehow locked itself. This didn’t really freak me out. I just assumed my dad in his drunken late night piss stumble somehow saw te front door was unlocked, and he locked it. So I bang on the door, but he doesn’t answer. I got to his bedroom window and bang on the window, and he doesn’t answer. I can actually hear his loud deep sleep snores. So now I’m kinda freaking out, not because of any glitch, but because I’m locked out and it’s like 3 am. So it sit on our front steps kind of debating how I’m going to get in, when I hear the deadbolt lock unlock, like I fucking hear it. So jump up and head in, expecting to see my dad walking away. However, I don’t see him in the living room. So I run to the kitchen to see if maybe he’s getting a drink of water, but he’s not in there either. Now i run to his bedroom, and he is still dead asleep, snoring just as loud as he was when I was scared I wasn’t going to get back in the house. This has always puzzled me. Not sure if this fits, I hope it does.

This sounds more paranormal. Maybe a passed one showed grace lol. But glad you got back in!

My gut reaction to this story was "grandma just did OP a solid"

I think this is the case as well. Something about hearing it unlock is what really had my mind boggled

I think something or someone helped you. Paranormal in nature.

I read other stories in this sub of people seeing shadow people, in this same house I had a reoccurring shadow visitor, could have been him lol

I'm glad you got back inside without waking your dad. Maybe someone was looking out for you.

Obviously, Dad didn't lock it, so whatever locked it also unlocked it. The point is for you to experience the full spectrum of emotions.

To me it sounds like you REALLY wanted back inside and you somehow made that happen. Small object, easy mechanism, all just spikes in a quantum field.

I believe you. A few years ago i saw the deadbolt moving as if you were messing with it using the key. I thought it was my friend so I went to open the door and no one was there

Some Otherworld wildlife specialize in repeating noises...
