Pedestrian hit on Stevenson St N
My door cam unfortunately only takes photos when someone comes up our driveway so it didn’t capture the accident. But I’m wondering if there is any information out there about this incident?

Seniors must take precautions when crossing roadways. When unable to exercise reasonable judgement about safe practices, seek assistance. Rush hours present heightened risk due to volume of traffic. Cross at controlled intersections only. If you cannot walk the distance required then make alternative arrangements for travel assistance. Talk to your parents especially those living alone about traffic safety and offer a solution

People need to slow down and pay attention to people, we can wait until they finish the bridge, so slow down and go a different route

It kinda sounds like he was jay walking though... "A pedestrian was crossing the street where there are no traffic signals"
I think it would've decreased the chance of an accident if he crossed where there were signals and at areas that are designed to protect pedestrians crossing roads.

Both of these are true. Speed & the fact he couldn’t make it the 20 feet or so to the newish crossing with flashing yellow lights.

I’m wondering though because this photo is almost right at the crosswalk… is it possible he was crossing at the crosswalk and forgot to hit the buttons to make the lights flash? Not saying that’s good either but maybe he just made a mistake. Hopefully he is ok.

What is the picture supposed to be showing? What happened?

Theyre showing police blocking the road off. She mentions not knowing what happened in her comment, in fact she also asks if anyone knows.

I did read the post, I’m not trying to be obtuse. I just was confused at what was happening in the picture that would even allow OP to know or express that a pedestrian was hit. Thank you for clarifying.

Front door camera. A pedestrian was hit on the road at the bottom of our driveway. The camera does not record video, only shows screenshots when someone comes up the driveway or lawn.

I'm concerned for the well being of the struck pedestrian and you think this is a good time to promote a mayoral candidate?
That's in very poor taste.

By removing street safety protections and leaning into conservatism which doesn't value safety of citizen livelihoods?

I saw fire truck and ambulance there at about 7:10am. Hope the person is okay!
