Who plans the road closures?

Who in the city can I talk to about who plans road closures? Getting from west of Guelph like Cambridge or even Costco to my place near the hospital is damn impossible. Between speedvale and downtown my commutes are an extra 15-25mins.

The speedvale closures are every summer … I haven’t had a decent commute and I’ve lived in this area for 5 years.

Take marden or Woodlawn to victoria.

Lots of planning went into this and it is far too late. They kept one way open on Speedvale and reopened lanes on Woodlawn to help.

Write your councillors. The in progress work will not change until it is done

The city planners do. They have also posted all the plans including timing for when it's one lane vs no lanes, how long each stage will take, etc on the city website for a couple years now (the whole plan was laid out as a part of the Speedvale widening plan that started 1-2 years ago now)

100% agree.... I live in north end. Definitely have to add 10-15 min to get across town. Everyone is filtered onto Woodlawn if you need to go north. Victoria is unreal, try making a left onto Woodlawn, the traffic is backed up past Brant Ave.

So... Stop replacing aging infrastructure? Outside of rush hour, it might add 5 minutes.

Ps, THREE ped/cycle bridges exist between Woodlawn and Eramosa. Maybe not practical for going to Cambridge, but I have barely felt speedvale being closed and just bike for all the short trips.

This is an outrage that Hospitals and whatnot should get in the way of your Costco run.

Wat?
I think the complaint is about how hard it is to get from Costco TO the hospital? Not that the hospital is in the way of Costco.. they're not even close to each other lol
