Comics Can Hawkeye survive Gotham and make it better than Batman?

Can he make Gotham a better CITY than Batman can? Can he beat all of Batman’s villains and hand them over to the GCPD or throw them into Arkham?

Survive? Yeah, absolutely. Make it better? No. Absolutely not.

Yeah he would kill all the costumed villians and gangsters and then the city could heal.

Gotham doesn’t heal, it festers

Most are nearly immortal and could be replaced

Yah, he punches above his weight in a fight but doesn't have the ability to actually improve living conditions... Unless maybe he takes some of the more reformable villians and makes a Thunderbolts team

Deadshot or Slade is frying his ass first encounter 😭

Eh. Deadshot is basically bullseye and Clint has beat bullseye before. Slade is a different story but I also don't consider Deathstroke a Batman villain.

Yes but Slade is not primary a Bats villain.

Clint’s my boy, but he’s not that ambitious. Not his roll

I'm sorry. I love Hawkeye. But no, absolutely not.

survive yes; but look Hawkeye is my fave but saying he'd make Gotham better than Batman is just pure glaze. I think some people forget that Bruce Wayne doesn't just literally fight crime he also funds social programs.

I don't think anyone could actually make it better, but Clint would absolutely survive.

I'd be more worried how quickly he acclimates to how Gotham is.

Hawkeye does not have a no kill rule

Is this under the assumption that he would be killing the villains?

Doesn’t he have no problem killing…

No in the comics he definitely has problems killing. He’s one of those heroes who abides by a no-kill rule. Under some specific circumstances he’s been okay with taking part in an assassination mission for S.H.I.E.L.D. (but unlike what the MCU would have you thinking he’s not a seasoned spy, he’s just worked with S.H.I.E.L.D. a few times like other heroes have) and he still refused to be the one to pull the shot, letting Black Widow do it. He just helped them infiltrate A.I.M.

Wrong Hawkeye still doesnt kill if he has a choice

and originally he didnt kill at all

This was my thought. Batman's no-kill rule puts Gotham on an endless carousel of suffering. Even if Clint just went there for the weekend, killed Joker and left, he would be doing the city a massive favor.

Batman canonically decreased the amount of death 107 a year, 114 the year before and so on. Clint and Marvel heroes don’t get close to that number despite more firepower and flexible morality. Why Gotham would be different exactly?

Just think of it as trimming a single troublesome weed. Think of how many people would live if just Joker himself died.

Sure you have the Kingpin fallacy. But that's a lot of chaotic, random death to be prevented.

That’s assuming Joker is an easy target XD

Survive? Most likely

Make it better? Eh, wouldn't count on it

He gets creamed

The Ronin would 100% make Gotham better

Whitch version, 616 or 1610 ?

Hawkeye kills people, and in my opinion, that would make Gotham better.

Perhaps I am wrong, but I think one encounter with, let's say, Scarecrow, provided Clint keeps his distance and shoots him down, will end him forever, same goes with a lot of Batman villains who aren't explicitly superpowered.

He would survive but he probably won’t make it any better. I can see him killing joker tho if he finds out everything or really any of the things the joker has done

I mean, he’s just Green Arrow with no trust fund. Could he even body Ollie?

🤣 No. One whiff of Joker toxin and this dude is cooked. What good are arrows when you can’t find a target to shoot? Do you know how much work Batman has to put in just to find Joker or Riddler or any of them, really? The death toll before Hawkeye finds them would be catastrophic and he likely has to survive whatever it is they’re doing as well. Joker toxin, fear toxin, insane booby traps of all sorts… Hawkeye wouldn’t survive a Batman comic, let alone the entire city, and the idea that he can “improve” it is hilarious. So no. No he can’t.

I mean he’s literally a copy of a copy of Batman. Green Arrow was created as a copy of Batman but with arrows and a whole Errol Flynn vibe. Even had an Arrow Cave, Arrowmobile, ended up getting a little sidekick. And Hawkeye was a copy of Green Arrow, but…purple.

He’s another circus performer taken in by a highly skilled vigilante. I think he’ll be fine.

No the problem with Gotham cant just be solved with fighting or shooting you need someone with resources and detective skills which Hawkeye is lacking

sure he can take down any gotham villain easy enough using trick arrows but then how is he gonna stop the bombs all over the city or gather enough evidence to put them in prison

its just not his skill set

u/witdafanta 1d ago

Absolutely the fuck not. I'm not saying he can't survive Gotham, but he surely ain't fixing shit 🤣

People saying he wouldn't make it better. Does hawkeye not kill? I think he does. He'd kill the joker. Even just doing that makes gotham a better place. He'd almost 100% beat bane with his trick arrows and with his shield connections bane is going to like the raft or something. I think everyone just likes to glaze batman.

Clint's always been one of the "Avengers don't kill" guys on the team. He has killed, but it's a huge line to cross and he won't if there's literally any choice.

0

u/Ashconwell7 1d ago

OP posted a picture of comic Hawkeye. He doesn’t kill.

0

u/Old_Lengthiness_5773 1d ago

Pretty sure he does kill he just prefers doing it as a last resort. With how many people joker has killed i doubt he'd have much of a problem. But for arguments sake lets say he doesn't kill him. He'd still beat him and again with his connections joker would be shipped off to the raft or somewhere else and chances are they would kill him for his crimes.

He literally divorced his wife because she killed a guy in self defense
