Discussion Jakub Dobes was said to have had a good practice today
The person recording described that he kept things simple in front of the net and stayed inside of his zone. Do you think the Dobes rebound is coming?

My stream was buffering so I missed the practice footage, this image got me feeling like I'm staring at a loading screen
Dobes staying simple and inside his zone is exactly what we need though, last few games he was chasing pucks too much and leaving the net wide open
If he can keep this energy I think the rebound happens faster than people expect, maybe even in the next week or two

Soon Dobes will be criticized for having coloured pads. Whenever Price struggled it was always because he wore his red pads

Not a criticism but I did have concerns about his save percentage in those pads lol. They look slick though

As a Habs fan I can confidently say that Habs fans are fucking ridiculous.

There is probably a slight advantage for the shooter when you can see contrast between the pads and the ice. It let's you see clearly where there is an opening.
I don't think that was the problem though.

I have read this a couple of times already. That white pads generally get better results.

I had a good poop this morning and not one person made a post about it.

I…uh….ok? This is like what my wife and I tell each other about our very emotional 4yo after pre school. “Oh he had a good day!”
I’m not a dobes hater by any means but I don’t know what this means.

Like Dobes, I’m confident your 4 year old will be fine.

This reads like you’re saying you and Dobes discussed whale’s 4 year old and you’re both confident they’ll be okay. Made me chuckle.

He had a great rookie year and awesome playoffs. He’s having a rough start yes, but I’m confident he’ll find his game.

I want to see him play far out in front of the net again. That's when you know he's feeling himself.
I'm sure he'll bounce back soon.

If Dobes can stay in position instead of getting walked out of his crease like a dog following a steak, he'll be just fine.

Where is his leash ??
He needs to stop wandering and losing his net.

this is like, not at all why he's struggling. he's struggling because when he is in the net, he's not squared up. he has good lateral control and is actually very anticipatory. positioning isn't his problem either, it's his instinct toward aggressiveness and overreaching. he's gonna be fine though, i'm tired of how we're all doomers all the time

Yup...he losses his net.
The leash drill will help him with that....it tethers him to his posts so he always knows where they are so he can square better.
He just needs to get his game back....it happens..

This sub reddit needs to chill out. Are we talking about practice now?

Like 3 goals went in exactly same way last game. None of them would have been saved by any goaltender.
