Food Where can I find matzo meal?

I’m not Jewish, but I’ve been wanting to make matzo ball soup for years. Google says Fortinos has it, but I’ve checked multiple locations and have not had any success.

Try the Main West Fortinos.

They should have it there in the kosher aisle. If you want proper matzo balls, you also need shmaltz, which you may he able to get from Jo in the market.

You can also make schmaltz pretty easily

Second this. If OP is making matzoh ball soup then maybe also making the chicken soup? So then the schmaltz would otherwise be discarded or used for another unrelated dish.

I make the Manischewicz matza ball mix. Always better than my own from scratch, and they’re parve (neither meat nor dairy), as the recipe calls for oil and eggs.

If you’re hard pressed to find it, and you don’t need the matzoh balls to be kosher/ it’s okay if there’s yeast in, then you could use unsalted premium plus crackers ground up. Or unsalted water crackers. A bit of work but if you have a good food processor/mill or can get to work with a mortar and pestle, could be a better option than running around town for one ingredient.

Denningers for sure. Fortinos in Westdale. Amazon.

If you are making your own chicken broth you can use the fat that you skim from the broth once you put it in the fridge to give the matzo balls that chickeny essense. Regular oil also works just fine, they will still be good.
