by jove he's right hello I am brigading your subreddit to say that Joe Blitzstein is the goat and STAT110 is amazing

every (open sourced btw) lecture, some interesting insight or famous problem on probability/counting, completely self contained book and course outside of a single variable calculus pre req., so intuitive and really focuses on developing understanding (story proofs etc.). what a legend, someone buy him a big box of chocolates plz.

Is he the goat or is he actually the car behind the door?

I showed this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggDQXlinbME in class recently when were were discussing Monty Hall, and it showed a letter someone wrote to Marilyn vos Savant saying "You are the goat!", and I pointed out that the meaning of "goat" has changed since then....

is this an ok intro stats course for someone who never took stats in highschool and isnt particularly good at math, but prefers more abstract thinking?

Imo you need good experience with set theory (intro discrete math course) and ur golden, everything else is explained well by him. Joe explains set theory too but tbh it’s gonna be hard to understand unlesss you’ve seen it b4.
