Headphones - Wireless/Portable Looking for Wireless Headphones that are light on the ears
Hi everyone!
I've been using (and rebuying) Sony MDR ZX110 for a while now. It's very cheap and functions fine for my needs, but it's main appeal to me is how little it hurts my ears. It has a natural wide gap between earcups at rest, so that when I put it on I can barely even feel it which is exactly what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for wireless headphones that replicate this feeling. It's also important for me to be able to use the headphones while charging/while wired to my computer. Price is not the main consideration, I guess I'd rather not go over $100-200 but I think most of what I'm looking for wouldn't even be that expensive.
I have the Sony WH-CH520 and those hurt my ears, for some reference.
Would appreciate any advice for people who like me, are sensitive to headphones clamping on their ears too much.
Thanks a bunch!

The ZX110 and CH520 are both on-ear, which is probably why the CH520 hurts. All the clamp lands right on the ear itself. A lot of people who get sore from on-ears find that over-ear models with big soft pads feel way better, because the pressure spreads around the ear instead of squishing it. Since clamp force is what you care about, RTINGS lists it for most headphones, so it's worth sorting your shortlist by that before buying. For using it while charging, double check that the model supports a 3.5mm cable or USB audio, since some only charge over USB-C and just go silent. A wired option that's also Bluetooth would cover both your desk and everything else.

I agree!
Any on ear headphones would ultimately result in hurting your ears especially if worn for extended periods of time. Guess you need to use them for shorter sessions.
I have the Bose QC35, Sony XM2, Anker Life Q30 and other on ear headphones. Not comfortable for long listening periods of time as they are mostly on ear.
For your situation, if I have understood correctly, I would think the best option would be to go in for the Anker Soundcore Q11i which can be used wired without switching on power.
The other recommendation would be the more recent model. The Anker Soundcore Space 2 which can be used whilst charging, albeit with a slight hum in the background. I hear that the trick to avoid the humming is to charge the headphones through a power bank or external wall charger, whilst plugged into your laptop 3.5mm. Best to double check. These are said to be more comfortable.
Both are within the price range stated.
Good Luck with your next purchase.
