I've started playing Helldivers with my son

He's almost 13, but he's been watching his cousin play for a while. I usually play after he's in bed. He's just starting out, but it's been super fun getting to sit next to him and play the game. We've also has some good conversations about satire and fascism.

Just wanted to share.

I started playing because my oldest got it and wanted me to join him. So, we started out with me playing with him and his friends. Then the younger brothers wanted in. Now I have several divers in my house, and I continue to play after they go to bed way past when I should.

I have 3 adult sons in different cities. They moved off long ago, but we chat on Discord while diving as a squad. It’s surprising rewarding catching up on their lives while spreading democracy. Kinda cheesy, but really appreciate getting to do that. Whether they’re in the room or across the globe, it’s quality time.

Man I wish for this so bad but my babies are still little. Will likely be Helldivers 3 before I can make this happen too! Great share Helldad! For Super Earth!

Same. I play with my ten and 7 year old. The 7 year old crashes out if the mission is too hard, but the ten year old and I have gotten into some Epic battles and made some great memories.

For my birthday this year they 3D printed a full size gun for me and a replica walker (not full size) It was pretty rad

I bought the game for my 14 year old son as he mentioned some of his friends play. We had never played an online game before, only local machine games.

I watched him play for a bit and thought it looked fun and it was something that we could do together, so I purchased it as well and we play next to each other on weekends. (I am now hooked and play almost every night),

But we have great conversations during the week about different strategies, loadouts and warbonds.

I asked him to send me a shopping list for me to get stuff on the way home from work. The list went like this:

  • milk
  • bread
  • liber tea
  • bbq suff

I cracked up in the middle of the shops.

I’m similar, my boys got me playing but then abandoned me for Roblox. 😂 so now I’m pushing 40 carrying the flag for super earth.

I burned my kids (m16, m15) out on Helldivers. They played for a while but then they moved on to other things, but I just kept going.

No, no local split screen, and yes, everyone has a separate account.

That’s so cool. My son is only 8, so I will have to wait a bit longer. Maybe until Helldivers 3.
