DISCUSSION Scope of authority superstore
Is there any info about SoA superstore items? Did anyone even tried to ask bask or mitchimus?
59
u/Bleggman 6h ago
idk but now that we're getting these sniper items i could go for a long range sniper turret
25
u/AmaryIIion 6h ago
Personally id prefer a sniper emplacement. It would be so sick to call down a stationary version of the new 20mm or something, and yes I know the anti-tank emplacement would basically be the same thing, but still, different flavors are great.

u/wraith309 HD1 Veteran 3h ago
The Autocannon is to the AT-E as the Apex is to the emplacement you want?
6
u/AmaryIIion 2h ago
Dumb that down for me bubba, I dont exactly follow.

u/wraith309 HD1 Veteran 1h ago
Support Weapon Emplacement Autocannon AC-8 Autocannon E/AT-12 Anti-Tank Emplacement AT-Sniper AMW-20 Apex what you want would go here? just asking if that's roughly the equivalent you're looking for.
1
u/AmaryIIion 1h ago
But you said AT-E in the first comment. The AC-8 autocannon sentry isnt an emplacement and isnt called the AT-E - its a turret, meaning its autonomous in the games specific categorization scheme.
I basically just want a manned emplacement of the new Apex I could call down despite the fact it would work extremely similarly to the anti-tank emplacement we got in the urban legends warbond.
2
u/wraith309 HD1 Veteran 1h ago
at no point did i reference the autocannon sentry
A is to B as C is to D is a rhetorical device whereby someone compares the first two items, and then implies the same relationship between the second two items.
in this case:
A: the autocannon. the team reloaded support weapon. AC-8. not the A/AC-8 sentry
B: the anti tank emplacement. called the AT-E or E/AT-12 Anti-Tank Emplacement
C: the Apex. the team reloaded support weapon. AMW-20
D: a hypothetical emplacement
I was asking if you wanted an emplacement that is similar to the apex in the same way that the anti tank emplacement is similar to the autocannon.
2
u/AmaryIIion 1h ago
You just referenced the autocannon turret in your little graph there, what do you mean? What does Autocannon" and "AC-8 Autocannon" mean if not the hand-held to the turret?
Anyways, my real misunderstanding with your comment was apparently just that I dont see the hand-held autocannon as similar to the AT-E. What makes them similar exactly?
But yes, I do want what you are asking if I do.

u/wraith309 HD1 Veteran 59m ago

AC-8 isn't the code for the sentry. the turret is the A/AC-8
similarly, the machine gun sentry is the A/MG-43
Anyways, my real misunderstanding with your comment was apparently just that I dont see the hand-held autocannon as similar to the AT-E. What makes them similar exactly?
literally just that they're both large toggle lock anti armor cannons with a similar form factor. nothing deeper than that. 😅

Auto Cannon is equal to auto Cannon turret. He want apex turret to match his Apex
2
u/AmaryIIion 1h ago edited 1h ago
He said AT-E, which is the manned anti-tank emplacement (emplacemets arent turrets). The personal autocannon isnt like it so im confused - and neither is the personal autocannon like the turret one btw. The turret one shoots a much bigger round that does 450 at ap5 and 450 durable damage, while our handheld does 325 at ap4 and 260 durable.
I want a manned emplacement with the new Apex sniper rifle on it even though it would work very similarly to the AT-12 Anti-tank emplacement. No turret.

u/OG_Deadhead ☕Liber-tea☕ 1h ago
You know, I knew that, but for some reason, my brain was thinking of the turret even though I thought the word emplacement after that. Unrelated, but how do you find out the numbers for these things. I’ve been out of the loop for a while and just now getting back in.

u/AmaryIIion 1h ago
Use the hd2 wiki website that shows up either first or second every time you look something up like "autocannon sentry hd2" on Google or whatever. It has almost all the relevant information that you need. And in a much better format than the other sites that show up on searches.

I want a heavy armor set and a suppressed weapon

In particular I want a new one-handed supressed weapon, since currently the only one-handed supressed weapons are in the ODST warbond.

I want something like the trident with only 1 laser and a scope.

u/Appropriate_Rock_740 SES Mother of Wrath 3h ago
isnt that kind of like the sickle?
5
u/zer0saber FIST of the PEOPLE - B0atsMcG0ats 2h ago
The Scythe is what they're looking for, they just don't know it. Has a decent scope on it, is literally point and click, and does great damage vs most weak points.
2
u/wraith309 HD1 Veteran 55m ago
i've got all the weapons to lvl 25 and the scythe is not what i'm looking for. its strongest scope is a tiny 2x and when i want to snipe something it is far easier to ensure the weak point is in my crosshairs for 1 immediate instant, not holding the cursor over the weak point for half a second.
2
u/wraith309 HD1 Veteran 3h ago edited 2h ago
Maybe the HD1 sickle. the HD2 sickle is neither hitscan nor has a scope.
edit: a powerful scope

I don't get the heavy stealth armor thing. The whole point of stealth is avoiding fights as much as possible.
Sorry folks, didn't realize I wasn't allowed to have personal skepticism about something. I'll do better next time.
46
u/teh_stev3 6h ago
yes and no.
Stealth is about controlling the engagement, but when it goes loud that doesn't mean you don't want some extra padding.19
u/N7Greyborne 6h ago
For real, I use stealth as an ambush tactic not as a silent tactic.. it just means I get to jump unsuspecting patrols and bases, in and out fast.
7
u/comicallylargeloss 5h ago
in and out fast, logically you'd want to be carrying something light, right?
1
u/Few-Mood6580 4h ago
Yes, you ideally want as light as possible. This is true in real life combat as well. Speed and violence of action keeps you alive.
7
u/BjornInTheMorn 6h ago
Yea, if you are keeping your distance and bouncing ahead of call ins, the thing thats going to get you is a long range canon shot or rocket. Best to have some defense
1
u/JohnBidwellsGhost 5h ago
Assaults work best when the enemy doesn’t know you’re coming.
Edited spelling
13
u/AmaryIIion 6h ago
Its an armor with a stealth aspect that only works when crouchwalking (so very slow movement) or crouch/prone and not moving just at all - why would a heavy armor NOT be reasonable to have as a choice when this set isnt even about sneaking around but simply posting up and avoiding the patrols or whatnot?
Heavy armor a designation the game made, so I dont see why it should just be ignored on some misguided principle.
3
u/NeoTechi Assault Infantry 5h ago
I've always been a heavy-main and I know I want additional options.
2
u/AmaryIIion 5h ago
I originally planned to say something like that in the second part of my comment, as I am too a heavy user 95% of the time. Still waiting for a heavy unflinching... lol
1
u/Sudo-Fed SES Sword of Justice 6h ago
You know, it actually does make a bit more sense given this bond's focus on more stationary stealth.
6
u/AmaryIIion 6h ago
I just hope stationary stealth as a concept is viable and actually can work with this armor passive. The very few occasions where I get to sit in a spot with an AMR in this game and actually snipe, I HAVE to have something watching my back for patrols that will simply spawn within 100m of you and walk directly towards you. I really dont know if this armor passive will genuinely help avoid having to stop your covering fire to deal with them.
On a slightly separate note, if you ever want to try sniping for real in this game, go to moon biomes - their sightlines are unparalleled. Its really fun being a sort of overwatch for your team and picking off targets who are about to hurt them.
4
u/Routine-Delay-893 6h ago
That's what the Caltrops are for. Dump em behind you, snipe out an enemy base, providing overwatch for your teammates the entire time and then once everything is cleared and it's time to move on, get up, turn around and walk over your own trap that you forgot you laid!
2
u/AmaryIIion 6h ago
1
u/Routine-Delay-893 5h ago
It's more an early warning system then anything. If you hear/see/feel em go off, you know to GTFO. Not many things in this game can completely take out an entire patrol with heavies without actual player input.
5
u/AmaryIIion 5h ago
I guess as a warning device it probably serves its purpose, but most of the time you can hear the patrol coming as their audio cues are specifically louder than just normal bugs walking around, so i dont know if i see the appeal.
And im not quite sure id want to waste my grenade slot on a simple alarm system. Like I feel you might be better off strategically placing lure mines around you to ward off the enemy at that point, because with them you might actually disrupt/misdirect the patrol without having to do anything. Usually id bring a tesla tower as my patrol cover because it can typically take out a whole patrol as long as the charger doesn't get ignored (still despise arrowhead for nerfing the tesla towers stun value so it cant one-shot stun chargers).
2
u/N7Greyborne 6h ago
Wearing heavy armour while covered in camo with an anti-tank sniper.. may as well be an entrenched tank at that point, it's an awesome concept haha
4
u/johnis12 5h ago
Well, it is Helldivers so always expect a mission to go tits up for any reason. Plus... I just want well-rounded armor class sets with these perks; Light, Medium, and Heavy. I don't mind if a 'Bond comes with two of the same armor classes, but I'm hoping the Superstore at least sells the other different armor classes.
To be honest, I kinda liked what they did with the Entrenched Division Warbond. They shared a similar perk, but the armor classes had some differences with each one. Hope AH does that again someday.
1
u/BlueRiddle 6h ago
You lie in ambush and engage the enemy at whatever time is the most opportune for you.
And heavy armour helps you win that engagement.

I would love a tree stand stratagem. Call it in. Climb a ladder 2 stories. Good vantage point with minimal small arms cover fire (think deployable cover), but can be taken out at the bottom to ragdoll the sniper

maybe finally a true laser dmr, light or medium pen, no spool up, no chargeup, infinite ammo
6
u/Grandmaster_Lolicon 4h ago
Not sure why someone downvoted you for this. People have been asking for a primary Talon with a scope forever, and the Hot-Shot Marksman from the 40K warbond ain't it. Would be a perfect fit for the sniper theme too.
Ammo is my biggest issue when I play sniper support since you can't get any extra when you're on top of a big rock. Can't call a supply drop up there and the supply pack is out since you need a hover pack to get up. A laser DMR would mean I only have to leave my perch when the team is moving outside of my coverage.

u/Valaxarian You are hiding ze bugs under ze floorboards, aren't you? 56m ago
Primary version of the Talon that could either have a scope or not. Medium pen like its small brother
Hotshot is cool but it ain't it

They’re gonna do something for sure. But I don’t know what yet. They better give us the Incinerator FRV. That thing is in a Usable State and is basically a hellbomb on wheels.

I just need my las 22. If Arrowhead gives me the las 22 in that upcoming superstore I will be so happy.

u/CryTheFurred Detected Dissident 1h ago
I would hope it doesn't include another really good primary scooped out of the warbond and sold for almost half the warbond's price, but given the lack of pushback on the Sai they are most certainly going to keep doing that, unfortunately.

Its likely another medium armor and a cape and player card. If its a gun it will be from the scrapped helldrivers warbond
0
u/Aiwac Escalator of Freedom 4h ago
Considering that we are getting a Primary, a Secondary, two Stratagems, a Grenade and two Armours in the Warbond itself, the boring and I think likely answer is the usual armour, cape and other stuff no one really cares about but if I have to speculate.
An actual functional Plasma Sniper primary. But if I have to be spicy it will be an attachment to 'Sniper' type weapons.

Of all the stealth amours this one feels the most likely to have a heavy armour set, likely using the same adaptive camo.
