I received a request to perform this peripheral blood smear for suspected lymphoma. The internal medicine department told me that the patient presents with: weight loss, night sweats, and lymphadenopathy.

Looking at the peripheral smear, I reported these cells as reactive lymphocytes; I don't believe this is a lymphoma, at least based on the morphology of these lymphocytes.

What do you think?

I'm looking at bat blood smears and I keep seeing these dark purple things. They look like bare nuclei of leukocytes with no cytoplasm. Does anyone know what they are?
