Paths from absolute to relative in your Houdini projects

Post image

Hey Guys!

Common problem with absolute and relative paths inside your Houdini project.
Probably, from PRISM time there were hundreds of this kind of scripts. But it always a problem to find one so I "created" one humble script for myself and want to share with you.
Just put .py script in your project folder or paste in shell. It will check your root folder and change all paths in nodes to relative.

Thank you for sharing, this is pretty useful !

Maybe consider adding a feature where instead of changing all parhs, it gives you a list of paths and only changes the ones you indicate. Sometimes you have paths in a scene that point to central/shared resources that shouldn't be changed...

Hi Isa! Glad you like it. I was thinking about that but when you add one feature, you want to add another, then third, forth… then UI… then you have operational system :) It’s already doing smart choices - check description on git. But you probably right about exceptions. I will think about it.
