Tips & Tricks this IKEA ONSEVIG rug suitable for underfloor heating?

Post image

Hi everyone!
I’m thinking about using the IKEA ONSEVIG rug (200 × 300 cm) in my living room, but I’m not sure if it’s suitable for underfloor heating.
The label says it’s made of 100% polypropylene with a synthetic latex backing. I have a click vinyl floor with what I believe is a water-based underfloor heating system.
The rug would be placed underneath my sofa. I’m concerned about heat buildup potentially damaging the vinyl flooring or the rug’s backing.
Does anyone have experience with this particular rug or similar rugs on vinyl flooring with underfloor heating? Would it be safe to use, especially if I lift the rug regularly during winter?

I've got an old TASTRUP rug lying on a click vinyl floor and a GULORT rug on a tile floor. They should have the same backing as your rug. Both rooms have water based floor heating and I have never consciously lifted the rugs for airing them out. They're absolutely fine, as is the floor :D

Is your floor abnormally hot? Because my floors get warm (comfortable to walk barefoot on) but never really hot.

underfloor heating doesn't get hot enough to do damage, it just gets warm. if a material like laminate or vinyl can handle it, i'm sure this rug can too :)

I have tons of stuff on the floor that hasn't seen damage, like a big rug; a cheap doormat (that i'm sure has tons of plastic), shoes, slippers, you name it... not an issue at all!
