Is this a frostpunk settlement converted into a warhammer 40k hive city...?

Is this using geothermal energy? I've always wondered if that would be the true energy source of the future, using the heat of planet's core to provide energy to a globe-spanning civilization.

"Train To New Manchester"

Turns out it was quicker and cheaper to mover Manchester than it was to finish HS2.

“And the worst part about New Manchester?’ He said dystopianly, “It’s just as rainy.”

I really like the generator being uninhabitable to the hive's occupants but larger than the megastructure itself. The idea makes me think that something just as ancient as the archeotech generator could be nesting down there like sea life that lives around thermal vents.

Fantastic! Loved looking at the detail, gives a real post-apocalyptic vibe while retaining the large infrastructure etc of sci-fi

how does it work? that kind of machinery needs constant maintenance and frostpunk is not rooted in a fantasy world, sacred automatons or something like that would be a solution, they cant be recreated with current tech but they auto-repair themselves and go down to do the work

the lava leaking and the heat isn't there by design...

also this isn't frostpunk, but a Hive City in WH40k inspired by Frosptunk

Love the labels! I had to laugh at "The Holy Plume" though - a plume of soot that's holy. 😂

Love it! I'd like to see even more explainer texts all over the parts of the city. Perhaps even more forgotten and semi-caved in underground chambers?

I can see this in dwarf fortress. We must dig deeper

Hell. Yeah. Maybe add little vignettes of technical areas? I love that kind of artwork.
