If you're going to post a picture of a car asking if you should buy it then you need to provide more detail than just an uncropped picture of the listing. Please include the year of the vehicle, any packages it has, the mileage, and if it's a rebuilt title; it's impossible to determine the quality of a deal without this info.
Some general questions you'll want to ask yourself if buying:
Are the bushings good?
Does the car have the cylinder ring issue?
Can I afford to replace the catalytic converters if the car is over 150,000 miles
Am I okay with replacing the radiator at 190k miles?
Can I comfortably afford premium gas (no, you cannot put regular in these unless you want the car to commit wrecking-yard-self.)
Am I okay paying this much for a 10+ year old car?
Can I afford luxury car repair prices? (Infiniti is cheaper to repair than a German car, but cheaper != cheap.)
Are the engine sensors shitting out?
Did the person that owned the car before me actually know how to install these mods?
Why is this car only $1,500? Why is the seller trying to dump it.
Is there water under the floormats and in the trunk? If so then you'll need to fix the sunroof drain and the seals around the cabin air filter under the hood (usually the top cowl is the source of the air filter leak.)
They're great cars, but any car over 10 years old is going to have hidden issues. If you're asking reddit if you can afford the car, then the answer is probably "no" because the repairs on old cars are expensive.
If a G has over 160,000 miles and has mods then don't buy it as a daily unless you know what you're doing. Save your money and buy a commuter Toyota until you can afford a lower-mileage Infiniti or Lexus. If you want a project car, or are okay with doing your own repairs, then you can buy a G at any mileage.
The oldest Q50s are barely reaching a decade old, so they have far fewer issues in general.
If you want the VQ motor I recommend the 2015 models. They fixed a lot of issues with in-touch, and it is the most refined version of the VQ motor. If you can only afford the 2014, then I'd recommend saving for a 2015, or buying a 2013 G37.
Check the valve cover gaskets. It's the only somewhat-common issue I am aware of with the late-model VQ engines.
Are the turbos on this 2016-2018 leaking? If a deal is too good to be true, it probably is, make sure the seller isn't trying to dump one of the unlucky VRs with the turbo issues. Look for coolant leaking from the turbo and demand a service history. If you do see one with bad turbos, factor in the cost to put an aftermarket turbo in. The Red Sport doesn't have this issue as often because it has a better turbo.
Keep in mind, you cannot drive a turbo car like a NA if you want it to last. You must let the car warm up before driving it hard, or you will have issues. It is also advised that you let the car cool down before you shut it off if you've been driving hard. This issue is not exclusive to Infiniti turbos, most TT engines have this issue, but you still need to be aware of it. You cannot run this engine like a VQ and expect it to be fine
That said, this subreddit massively overstates the regularity of the 2016-18 turbo issues. Most people with turbo issues did not know how to drive a turbo. If you want to know which parts and symptoms to watch out for, see this comment from J_C_Davis45
I'll update as more common issues are known.

I won't be enforcing use of a flair, though I do encourage it to help people find what they're looking for.
Car Pic: The point of your post is to show off the car holistically. e.g. your car in front of a sunset.
Car Mods Pic: The point of your post is to show off close-ups of specific mods. e.g. look at my new intake, it pulls 700 extra ponies.
Parts Picture: Similar to "Car Mods Pic," but the mods are on the floor of your dimly-lit room.
DIY Mods Pic: This is reserved for the brave pioneers who craft their car mods instead of installing mods they bought. e.g. a custom made laser headlight or a custom-fitted Shtora-1 electro-optical active protection system.
Question: A generic question that doesn't have a better-matching flair. Usually for discussions as opposed to questions with a specific answer. e.g. "How much longer do you think Infiniti will last?"
Help Needed: An urgent request for advice from the Reddit Mechanicus. e.g. "Why is my G35 heater not working and my car overheating?" (The answer is you need a new thermostat btw.) Please describe your problem in great detail, leave your post up, and edit your post when you found the answer to assist future googlers.
Buying Advice: Any and all questions related to buying an Infiniti. This includes pricing questions and questions about shady dealers.
Guide: A guide on how to e.g. install a mod, fix an issue, use a lesser-known feature of the care, etc. Please include pics if possible, but we love you for posting a guide anyway.
Damage Report: Pictures of busted cars or Infinitis owned by the IRA. You're not asking for how to fix something, just empathy from people who understand your pain.
Meme / Joke: Pretty self-explanatory. Shitposting should also use this flair. !!!Must be Infiniti related!!!
Infiniti News: News about the brand. New cars, new CEO, etc. Don't post blogspam or eye will ban u
Video: Video about Infiniti. e.g. a BoostInMotion video, or a major car channel yet again (incorrectly) shitting on the dual-touch screens. (disagreeing with me that the touch screens are cool is - while not bannable - very cringe.) Note, don't break the self-promo rule.
Video OC: Video about Infiniti that you recorded. e.g. your gopro footage from the track. Note, don't break the self-promo rule.
Art: The rarest, but most treasured flair. Reserved for the talented among us who can draw and such. If you're very fancy and put a ton of effort into a photo you can use this flair. Note: your red Q50 shirt is not art. Note, don't break the self-promo rule.
Review: Reviewing Infiniti, or a product for Infiniti. Don't break the self-promo-spam rule.
Meta: Posts about /r/infiniti itself. Whine about the moderators.
Other: Anything not covered by another flair.
If you notice a flair that isn't listed here, call me a dumb ass and remind me to edit this post or make an updated one.

On the G37 sub, someone posted a web page from the Infiniti site showing the original promotion of the G37 back in 2007ish.
It reminded me of an awesome video short of the M45 from 2003. Here it is, if you're interested. It's one of my faves.

Got the P0720 code and Infiniti said I need to get a valve body, but the part is discontinued from Infiniti. This is the part number they listed: 31705X602D.
Anyone know how to source one?

I just got this 2012 sport sedan yesterday and my suspicions were right. So I need a new rack and pinion. I want to avoid a reman but does anyone know exactly what the part number is for the sport sedan rack and pinion? Thereās a ton of different part numbers and itās pretty confusing but apparently the sedan rack is different from the coupe as well as awd vs rwd and sport vs base. From what Iāve heard the sport has a different steering gear ratio. But I also read up on an old thread that was explaining basically that the inner rack assembly itself itās mostly the same the thing that changes is the inner and outer tie rods. I mightāve found the part but it looks to be discontinued so Iām still uncertain. Thereās a lot of confusion around this topic. If anyone can shed some light on the subject that would be super appreciated.

Hey guys, I got a 2018 Infiniti Q50s AWD about 3 weeks ago now and I have some questions. For starters my engine and turbos have 50k miles and my body and trans have 119k, because the turbos and engine blew and the shop put all new stuff in, common thing on these cars lol. Letās start with maintenance. When I first got it i automatically put in 5w-30 full synthetic, tomorrow im installing the z1 anti jump belt and upgraded idler pulley both OEM, and i also plan to clean the throttle bodies tomorrow. I plan on also disconnecting the oil pressure solenoid, but waiting until after emissions because it will throw a code and my oil pressure is good right now. I also plan on doing NGK plugs and gapping them to 0.024ā because i plan on getting a racebox tune. I want to also do a catch can and upgraded heat exchanger. Besides drain and fills on the diff, transfer case, and trans, what other maintenance should i be doing?
For mods, if i want to put on a spoiler, rear lip, side skirts, front lip, blacked out grille, LED infiniti logo, and mirror covers, will that look stupid with stock ride height and stock rims? I aināt made of money i wonāt be doing rims and lowering for a minute.

Hi all,
I got into a small accident a few months ago and my insurance company totaled my Q.
I ripped all my aftermarket parts before they took the vehicle.
I have a CF Seibon hood, HKS blow offs, AMS dry carbon engine covers heat exchanger, other cooling parts, HKS exhaust, BOV, BBS LM's in 20's but the lips needs to get replaced from the accident, have a bag set up, Rotora 8 piston front, 4 in the rear BBK, etc.
Got the Q new in 2019 and only had 18K on the car when they totaled it.
Located in So Cal in the 626 area if anyone is interested, can add photos as well.

This is from a dealer in Oklahoma. Even for a salvage title vehicle, this this is dirt cheap, right? Every other RS I've found is $20k-$35k, granted with clean titles. What do you think?

Hi all. I've had this car since around 60,000 miles and have always kept oil changed with a good synthetic, flushed transmission and coolant at normal intervals. One thing I haven't done because I didn't really know it was a thing was front/rear diff fluid and transfer case oil. It's possible the previous owner did it but who really knows.
The car runs great and currently sitting at around 145,000 miles. My question is how bad have I screwed up by not doing this yet and should I get this done asap or can I put it off another month or two until after the holidays? I don't put a ton of miles on the car so maybe in the next couple of months I might put 1500 miles on it. I had a reputable shop give me a quote for all three and it came out to right around $500.00

With gas prices so high, Iāve been challenging myself to see how far I can stretch a tank before filling up. People hate on this car for having a complicated variable compression engine mated to a CVT but Iām at 110k miles with zero issues at all. Just routine maintenance. I figure I take advantage of what Infiniti engineers designed this car to do which is having the ability to adjust its compression ratio from 8:1 for maximum performance to 14:1 for maximum efficiency.
I averaged 35 MPG over the last 20k miles (well beyond EPA estimates) giving me 611+ miles per tank which is honestly pretty impressive for a heavy car like this. I have the top level autograph trim with all the bells and whistles which is also the heaviest of the QX50s. This is a combination of city/highway driving, utilizing hypermilling techniques, while also trying to maximize the time the engine spends at the 14:1 compression ratio. Also, with the CVT, it helps that I can go highway speeds with it only at 1.4-1.7k RPMs which is great for further fuel savings. On highways I can get over 60 MPG.
Coming from a 350z, G35 and FX35, which all shares the same VQ engine, I originally purchased the QX50 with the understanding that I already had my fun going fast and my priorities were shifting to a nice looking car with a premium feel that drives smooth, rides quiet and saves fuel. So far itās served its purpose well!

I have a 2010 Infiniti EX35 with relatively low mileage (155,000 km), but the exhaust has become ridiculously loud.
Iāve been told replacement parts are only available directly from Infiniti, with little to no aftermarket options. Given the age of the vehicle and the cost of OEM parts, replacing the entire exhaust system just doesnāt make financial sense.
Has anyone with an EX35 (or similar Infiniti model) run into this issue?
More specifically, has anyone had success having sections of the exhaust welded, repaired, or custom fabricated rather than replacing the entire system?
The car still has plenty of life left in it, and Iād love to find a practical, lasting solution without spending a small fortune.
Would appreciate hearing what worked, what didnāt, and whether there are any particular trouble spots I should be aware of.

Iāve had my new QX80 for less than 2 months and already had a broken door handle that gets stuck when unlocking the car and what seems like an internal crack in my taillight (taking back to dealer next week).
Iāll be honest this has really ruined my excitement for this car and my first time owning an Infiniti has not started off well.
Has anyone experienced these things with their 25, 26, or 27 QX80s or do I just have bad luck?

Water pump shit the bed, am I fine with just replacing these parts or is it mandatory to change main timing chain?
