I wish cops would do this where I live. People are fine blocking an entire lane of a highway because apparently they are more important than anyone else. Like, fucking take a u turn at the next light

When you see it happen hour after hour, day after day, yea, watching entitled people drive unsafely should bother you.

We all have our triggers, and if you drive a lot, and safely, it would bother you.

We don’t know what he was being pulled over for.

Pulling across 3 lanes of traffic into the turn lane, it’s literally in the title

He improperly changed lanes leading up to an intersection over the solid white lines, that is illegal we know exactly why he was puleld over.

When approaching the intersection, once the lines go solid, you need to stay in whatever lane you're in.

This is one of the situations where they would tell you that a bad driver never misses their turn.

Victimless crime

Until it is done at the wrong time and causes an accident. That's why we don't allow it all the time. I understand you don't care, but we do certain things for a reason on the road.

Everyone should since it’s illegal and impedes traffic. At this intersection, the left turn light is green first. There are other roads where the left turn light is green after the ones for going straight. In that case, traffic would be backed up. And still other lights don’t have a left turn light but still have a left turn lane. That would also result in backed up traffic.

Laws exist for a reason and there’s no excuse from breaking them.

It just being illegal doesn't make it bad, Its Illegal to not pay a private company for your car insurance and its legal for that private company to decline your insurance claim because your tires where 2 mm over manufacture recommended

This is at most mildly. Could be asshole, could be guy who doesn't know the area.

Yeah but how common is this now? Doesn't matter if you don't know the area tbf if you miss your turning you find somewhere and do a U-turn

It's becoming more and more common, why is okay to cut in across 3 lanes of traffic and block a lane making traffic back up..when you could just carry on turn around re-route..

I'm fully expecting this to happen regularly soon in my area. They are "improving" traffic safety by replacing a couple of traffic lights with "R-CUT" intersections where the official way to do anything other than a right-turn will be to go right, drive 500 feet (yes, feet), then do a U-turn. And the U-turn in one direction won't have ANY light across a 4-lane divided highway.

I'm expecting that during morning/lunch/evening rush the line of cars to make the U-turn will back up past the turn lanes, across the thru-lanes, and down the crossing roads.

You don’t need to know the area to pull fully into the lane.
