Former NFL QB and Current Analyst on ESPN earning $500,000/yr, asking for GoFundMe donations?! (On behalf of newly widowed sister)
BIL died suddenly, leaving wife (former QB’s sister) and 3 kids. Wife’s brother, with a net worth of around 5 million and salary of at least 500k, set up a GoFundMe account for his sister and kids.
I’m sure some will defend and justify it, but I find it mildly infuriating.
Purposely did not mention his name, as he genuinely seems like a good guy. But with that kind of money, I’d say it’s out of line to ask the general public to help out.

I remember Alyssa Milano doing the same thing for her kids sports team to make a trip.

I get he’s asking the public. But mostly it’s probably being treated like a fund raiser for his rich colleagues and friends to donate to his sister is what I’m guessing the point is. He mad 12.7 mil in the nfl and probably make 1 million a year btw. They’ll be ok.

Yeah. This is aimed at friends/colleagues. I don’t condone it. At all. Scummy at best. Just help em out Dan. Not hard. Dudes making $80k a year are helping out siblings in similar spots. Shit sucks, drains an account or 2. But when you have 9-15 of em. You’ll survive.
But asking millionaires to help a millionaires sister is still douchey. No matter how you cut it. Imo.

I’m interested in the cause of death. They’re not saying how it happened so I imagine it’s something scandalous. OD? Something weirder? I heard of a family friends sister husband once dying from choking himself during porn

Espn ought to keep their personalities from asking the public for money for anything. Look at the Matt Miller story.
Also, don't people have life insurance? I do on my own and I have zero dependents. Every job I've had for decades has also had life insurance included.

a lot of jobs do provide this perk that you hope you never need. but as you get older it gets more and more expensive, sometimes prohibitively given day to day expenses. so, it's not a given, no.

He will give them money anyways, just wants to see how much the public will cover first

It’s for the sister, not for him. Was the dead husband everything you described?

Dead husband was Federico Lascano. Occupation: VP Hedge Funds ODD at iCapital. Their family did just fine with him earning 250k+ a year.

This is like seeing Oprah or Any other celebrity asking for money. Like if it means that much to you, how about you donate more for us.

Dan orlovsky, feel bad for the family, but the kids are 18 16 11, 2 are old enough to work if dan isnt willing to give some of his millions to buy his sister groceries...
