Accident - other driver at fault has A-Max insurance.

I was in an accident last night. It was the other driver's fault. They failed to yield to the right of way and it is stated on the police report. They have A-Max insurance, which turns out is just a broker. Has anyone dealt with A-max insurance before in a situation like this? Am I going to get screwed if I go through their insurance?

If A Max is just a broker, then they aren't handling the claim. The insurance company is. They're going to handle your claim like they handle every other third party claim.

Don't know a thing about them, but a quick look leads me to believe they probably deal with many non-standard type carriers and customers. If you have collision coverage, I highly recommend using your own coverage.

Yeah, thats what we're thinking. I have USAA so I think we're just going to go with them.

If all else fails, yes you can file a claim with your own insurance. But personally I wouldn't want to ding my own insurance with a claim, deductable etc., until I fully exhausted a pursuit in whole compensation from the other party's insurance. This accident literally just occurred, so I'd advise the OP to have a business day or two of leeway to communicate with the offending party's insurance before making an alternate decision.

AMX may be Kemper Auto. And if they have insurance, they probably just have the regular basic coverage insurance, but at least it should cover you.
