Help us design our living and dining room
We moved from an apartment with big rooms (~35m² living and dining room) to our house with a lot of smaller rooms (~20m² living and dining room).
We didn't want to buy new furniture and thought we could make them fit in the smaller living room.
After moving stuff around a lot we're at a point where we need help.
We moved out our couch, because it was way to big. Now we're trying out our armchairs. They are way more space efficient but someone never has enough light for reading and watching stuff on our tablet together or cuddling is impossible.
Please help us! We appreciate any tips. :) <3

What an amazingly cute place! You have great style and the architecture is really beautiful. It's understandable you have struggles with this room, it's an interesting shape and needs to do a lot of functions. In my view it looks like there's at least two options you can try:
First, have the dining space on the left (perspective from the plan) in the more narrow area, then you have the wider area on the right for a couch and armchairs. In my experience it's not that annoying to scooch a bit around the dining table since you usually get everything you need and then sit down to eat. For the living area I don't know how big your couch is but the space there seems more manageable since it's bigger and more square as well.
Second, my idea would be to get a small couch to fit exactly between the basement door and wall on the left. Then across from it you should have enough space for the armchairs or a tv console if you want.
Hope this helps or gives some inspiration at least! Good luck!
