Gonna get a studio apartment. This is the layout the website suggests. I am a pianist and want to put a digital piano in there. What should I do?

put a low table behind the sofa, put your digi piano behind it.

or get a lifted bed and have a music space underneath.

Puedes mandar a fabricar un rack de TV que sirva de escritorio y bajo la cubierta haya una plataforma extraible típica para teclado de Pc pero con tu piano digital. Saludos

Ditch the TV

Get a good sofa bed (or use your bed as a sofa) instead of a bed and a sofa and you’ll have a lot more space. I know some people are against sofa beds but there are really good ones out there and they are space savers.

foot of the bed or in the closet is where i keep mine!

I’d treat the piano as a piece of furniture, not an appliance: give it the longest uninterrupted wall and enough clearance for the bench, then let the sofa keep the center open. In a studio, that makes it read like a small music corner rather than something wedged into circulation.

What website is this?

We have our piano at the back of the sofa, it looks pretty good actually, in my opinion.

Maybe you can move the TV in front of the bed,and then put the sofa in it's place, then you'll have a bigger space for the piano.

Make sure you can play piano there. Check in noise issues.

Digital pianos have headphone jacks and adjustable volumes

I would flip the living area and bed area - makes more sense to have the area where you sleep away from the window and the couch next to it. You can then put the piano infront of the window.

you could gain place just by moving the kitchen island agains the wall and place the piano where the benchs are.

That island is built in, it doesn't move

Couch or window. Can turn the bed also.

Behind the couch. It fits perfectly. Combination desk and piano table. I did the same in my studio years ago.

I met a musician living in a small apartment who installed his studio where the table would go. In other words, he had no table to eat at.

In your case, you could use the back of the island where the stools are for the keyboard, and eat on the sofa, watching TV.

There are even some specialty coffee tables that transform into eating tables for that:

Get a bigger place. That twin size bed isn’t going to cut it unless you’re celibate, and a queen size leaves hardly any room for anything else…

I’ll try to find something else, but this is looking like my only affordable option right now. We’ll see

You could cut a full size bed just fine. Maybe a queen of its pushed against the wall. Don’t worry about getting a bigger place if this is what you can afford

Right side of TV or behind sofa.

I'm guessing the right side of the TV is the front door

u/Alternative-Rub1671 7d ago

It is

You can either play the piano or go outside. Choices needs to be made

Mount the TV on the wall and put the keyboard below it

Replace tv with keyboard. Or is tv required for you?

Are you doing the layout? Or do you have like a desk instead of a TV or something?

Are you getting a traditional bed? Or like a loft bed where you could put the digital piano or a desk under?

u/Alternative-Rub1671 7d ago

I don’t have any furniture at the moment. I’m gonna do all the layout myself. The image is just what’s on the website for the apartment

u/MonroeDAMM 5d ago

You could put the piano where the TV is in the graphic then if you want to have a TV later you could opt for a projector and a ceiling mounted projector with a screen that comes down

Depends on your long term plans, a Murphy bed or loft bed might give you more space. The con is if you plan to have a date over it might be weird

Definitely wouldn't rush out to get a TV if you have a computer to consume media

1

u/SparkyDogPants 7d ago

Murphy would be fine for a date

1

u/Sypsy 7d ago

True, as long as it's down ahead of time

I don't own one but I feel like I've read this scenario here lol

2

u/SparkyDogPants 7d ago

Maybe I’m not creative but I don’t see an issue of dropping the bed down for business time.

2

u/Sypsy 7d ago

If I recall correctly, there was concern about it just "looking dorky" when you deploy the bed but I guess it really depends on the date and how into you they are

Personally, I'd be fascinated haha

3

u/SparkyDogPants 7d ago

If someone wants to have sex with you, flipping your bed down doesn’t feel like a deal breaker. But I’ve also been married/dating the same person for twelve years

5

u/Sypsy 7d ago

Married 12 years too, I don't think I could survive today's dating world lol

Now I'm wonder how Murphy beds are received in the dating world

3

u/Humillionaire 7d ago

I would put it in front of the non-sliding half of the patio door

10

u/zmathias04 7d ago

Put it right behind the couch

11

u/crackersucker2 7d ago

I’d swap the bed and living room. Put up a room divider screen between the two and put the piano behind the couch….
…. or put the tv on the slider wall and couch facing that and piano on the side of slider than does slide.

Or is that area on the bottom right corner the entry?

3

u/Alternative-Rub1671 7d ago

Thanks for your reply. The door to the apartment is in the bottom right corner. When you enter, the front of the couch in the image is facing you.

Would you be able to describe your solution in more detail? Maybe even an image? Thank you for your help anyways

u/crackersucker2 7d ago

In that case, never mind aboit swapping the bedroom and living room. I agree with others that it should fit behind the couch.
