Itineraries 1 month global pass - Italy November

Hello everyone, looking for some advice. We bought the 1 month continuous pass and are thinking of travelling from Belgium all the way to southern Italy (at least Naples) in November. We are two adults and one infant (5 months old). I’m looking for advice on easily accessible cities and towns that are not Rome/Florence. So far we have booked the train from Brussels to Paris and the frecciarossa to Turin but from there I have not finalised the itinerary yet. We would like to avoid night trains and travel during the day, with stops of 2-3 nights in each place. Indicatively 10 November to 10 December. Any advice greatly appreciated :)

I can only recommend Padova! Small city but with lots of beautiful things to see and very well connected. Great daytrips by train from Padova are e.g. Vicenza, Verona, Bassano del Grappa, Castelfranco Veneto, Rovigo, Ferrara, Venezia. Only downside is maybe that starting from November - February the whole Pianura Padana (from Turin to Venice) tends to be quite foggy.

Second that. I loved Brescia, too. And Trieste.

Lovely Adriatic magic, not crowded in November : https://maps.app.goo.gl/bAH2CXLtFY2skKpt9?g_st=ac On a beautiful Trenitalia coastal route that goes all the way to Lecce, I think.

Incredible historic cave city, an archeological wonder, plus a great hike:  https://maps.app.goo.gl/an1wGjDMdJn2HMaq9?g_st=ac

Bologna is a gem of a city, and extremely well connected by train - both for long distance and to lots of good day trip destinations. Ravenna was my favourite. Also good if going home by the Innsbruck route! Glad to hear Padova be recommended, planning on breaking my next trip there.

Personally loved Naples more than I thought I would, if you’re history buffs it’s heaven. Paestum and Caserta are easy day trips by train (in addition to Pomeii, Hercuelanum etc. of course).

Thanks! Haven’t been to Bologna in a while so might add that and Ravenna to the itinerary :)
