My jazz vinyl collection so far
Only really started getting into this wonderful genre just a month ago and have been trying to consume as much info about it as possible. Still have a lot of classics i don't have yet but please throw me some recommendations!

Solid start! Highly recommend Chet for another Chet Baker album.

Baker can go in the toilet IMO.
Monster with a basic voice and an average trumpet player.

I hope you know about grey market records since I see you have a couple of them.

I'm aware yes, originals or masters just aren't in my price range most of the time but if i can ever find replacements those will probably go away

Blue Note Essentials. This new series of low priced reissues has the Chet in it.

Especially with Jazz there are lot of albums going out of print. I myself love to have the best vinyl with the best mastering from the original master tapes. AcousticSounds.com has the best selection IMHO, but they are not the only ones.
Check out Michael Fremers Guide to best analog mastered Jazz records
Here's my Jazz collection so far. I highly recommend everything here

I’d track down Sunday at the Village Vanguard or Waltz for Debby by Bill Evans. They’ll take you down a whole different rabbit hole

I've heard a lot about waltz after getting into this genre, all good things of course haha

If you like that particular Cher Baker record, I would recommend the “followup” album It Could Happen To You. It follows more or less the same idea, hence why it is sometimes known as (Chet Baker Sings) It Could Happen To You.

Duke Ellington at Newport! Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane, Kind of Blue, and Saxophone Colossus should tie in well to what you like.

For Ellington at Newport, you want the late '90s CD remastered by Phil Schaap. He found a second mono tape recorded for the Voice of America, then digitally synched it with the Columbia tape. Two mono tapes from two microphones equals true stereo. It sounds great. Paul Gonzalves had played his famous long solo into the VoA mic by mistake. The CD includes the VoA source, so he's not off-mic anymore. Schapp also restored the concert to its full length and running order. The CD also includes the studio re-takes that were passed off as concert tapes for all earlier releases. Buying vintage vinyl for Newport would be misguided.

That’s a solid start. I would recommend the Blue Note Tone Poet pressing of Katanga! next. Then grab the Verve Acoustic Sounds pressing of Blues and the Abstract Truth.

I love those! Getz “Jazz Samba” should be your next purchase. Or Cannonball “Sonethin else”

You're on the right path! Use the web (Google) in searching for jazz trios, quartets, vocalists, and by instrument. There's a wealth of information and sources. Enjoy! 👍👍

Check out his version of "West Side Story." Also Bud Powell "Bouncin' with Bud" and "Giant Steps" (Coltrane)

For more essential must haves, I would pick up Saxophone Colossus by Sonny Rollins, Adam’s Apple by Wayne Shorter, Maiden Voyage by Herbie Hancock, Page One by Joe Henderson, Crescent + A Love Supreme by John Coltrane and many more
