Creative I made this jewelry…What do you think?
Suggestions welcome! It’s my first try. The materials were inexpensive (resin and stainless steel).

I think you should sell these (or at least ones like these, after you experiment with it a little more). Just look at how many posts there are looking for anti-zionist/BDS-compliant judaica!

Like others have said, if you can experiment to find out how to make each point in the star a slice of watermelon, that’d be awesome. Idk what (if anything) you would put in the middle of the hexagon though.

I also wish I’d gotten a knit/crochet watermelon kippah before all the Judaica stores pulled them, but that’s a completely different craft lol

It is lovely. Artistically the colors have depth and not one time only. The proportions, colors, and the style are calming and optimistic.
The symbolism is beautiful and made in peace.

Looks lovely! If you sold these for a charity fundraiser, I’m sure you would get customers! I can already think of a few friends who would love the watermelon Magen Davids. You’re really talented! No criticisms from me as I’m not a jewellery expert at all 😅

Thank you! Last Hanukkah, I sold some of my other necklaces at a Menorah Lighting event, and I donated half the proceeds to the synagogue sponsoring the event. My table was swamped, and I sold a ton of stuff.
I sold mostly Star of David necklaces with floral motifs. I'm not sure how people around here would react to the watermelons, and I'm sort of afraid to find out.

maybe you could sell online or at pro palestine community events? or any human rights org events to raise money! i’ve gotten a lot of my favorite accessories at fundraising events :) including an irish-palestinian solidarity pin, tho the org is not technically related to palestinian liberation, it’s still supported amongst members
i’ve also gotten hand embroidered hats, handmade earrings, etc. if you are worried about your face/name being attached to the work for fear of backlash in your community, you could even donate a couple pieces to a trusted activist who could facilitate the selling!
anyway good luck and happy making! i love the watermelon necklace and the earrings (i am not jewish so i would not personally get a star of david, not bc they’re not beautiful as well ❤️)
eta: jewish voices for peace is an org w members who i’m sure would really dig these pieces! :)

i also think making the watermelon pendant into earrings as well would be very cute! and changing up the colors on the earrings you do have in the pic as well (kind of like what you did in the stars), making it clear/green/blue/so on

They are pretty. I see you have some trapped bubbles, especially the earrings. Could be because you are to vigorous when mixing, that you pour too fast into the mold, or simply bad luck. If you don't have a pressure pot use the slowest-setting resin you can get hold of. Also remember to use a mask and have the room well ventilated. Also If your casts suddenly get worse in the next month they might be in a too warm room. Love the design and concept. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips! I don't have a pressure pot. I usually just run a flame over them to get rid of bubbles.

And I wouldn't reccommend getting one unless you are going professional. It just requires that you need to be extra careful about possible places where air can get trapped. For a first try these are excellent!

I would 100% buy one of these if you sold them! Definitely post if you perfect your craft and end up selling them... would love the one of the necklaces with silver (I am unfortunately not built for gold at all lolol)!
