There are more but when they get their draft notice they go ahead and either tear it up burn it and go straight to jail but I've been seeing these videos for 3 years now and they've been doing it longer than that

Bravo. They are brave. And I know there are people who like to point out that there is always someone braver or put through harsher conditions. Regardless, you never know what it might take for anyone to muster any bravery. For all we know, they might be scared sh*less of doing a prison term.

Netanyahu and Gavir have made sure the numbers rose, but the truth is more nuanced than that. For instance, I was moved beyond reason when Hamas perpetrated their attacks against Israel on Oct. 7, and felt such an affront couldn’t be left without a response.
Most everybody felt this way in Israel; but after the first few building strikes were documented people started asking questions, especially those with family members still hostage. These attacks continued as we all know, and the questions kept people well aware of the disproportionate nature of them. And then there was a breaking point, where it was pretty clear that “revenge” for October 7 wasn’t the point of the attacks anymore…

How are people reacting in Israel to the recent news that Netanyahu was warned abundantly by Egyptian and Emirati leaders about 10/7 in advance and also that Hamas offered to give all the hostages back on the first day if the IDF didn't invade, but that didn't suit the government's agenda?

then they can choose to do national service, 2 years of volunteering in a professional setting, getting job training and you get to finish even before than serving in the military. And you get the same benefits.

they actually serve their military service in military jail, they get to go home during weekends and have to wear uniform.
not usually get dismissed after half a year. had friends who did that, I also did national service instead of military service.
there's absolutely no excuse, no one can say IOF soldiers are innocent because it's "mandatory"

That's what i am wondering. I don't know how widespread sadism was in the idf before 2023, or now, for that matter. But seeing how the International flotilla activists have been treated , I get a feeling that prison might mean rape and torture for these kids.

To me this is really good news The Republic of Ireland won the UEFA Nations League match against Israel with a score of 3-0 on September 27, 2026. I read a self-published book "be gay, do crime: thoughts from prison" from about ten years ago by an Israeli girl who went to prison for not joining the idf. She was on swiftie twitter and went viral when she posted she was back from prison. I read that in college and it genuinely changed my whole perspective

Living safely with social security and being the favored race in an apartheid definitely means you're taking on the pros of the system.
Being "less harmed" does NOT equal not benefiting. They're living just fine.
This protest, while is a step to refuse murder, doesn't change that they are still colonizers on stolen land with far more rights than Palestinians. They can choose to spend a year in jail and call it a day, but that doesn't change the system or who benefits from it.

Being completely ostracised and alienated by your entire society to the point of suicidality, every one in your family being a monster, being locked in a pen for solitary confinement because you refused to serve a genocide, being beaten by the military during actions, and getting threatened to get a star of david carved into your skin doesnt benefit anyone, evern though they suffer infinitely less than Palestinians.
I get where you are coming from, and why you feel resentment, but i dont agree with your core point that they benefit from israel
