YouTube shorts ads are fucking insane. 95% of them are the most blatant AI generated scam ads yet they're happy to take their money and feed it to their viewers. Can only imagine how many older folks get taken for a ride and lose tons of money and they don't give a fuck at all. Whatever happened to "Don't Be Evil" lol.

Yeah it’s like AI, where they don’t seem to be liable for what they host for some reason. Fundamentally, they change this and it drops their profit massively.

I'm not surprised. I'm sure a bunch of scams start through ads but I think the vast majority happen through cold calls or texts/messages. Head over to r/scams and it's absolutely insane the amount of money people are losing. Mostly elderly people losing their life's savings and retirement to some group of assholes half a world away. People talk about transfer of wealth. The real transfer of wealth is coming straight out of the american elderly bank accounts to scammers in China and India. I have a feeling the stats that are being thrown around about the dollar amounts being scammed out of people are on the low side. So many are so ashamed and embarrassed it never gets reported.

Damn, this needs to be on the national us news. It needs to become an issue in the presidential election.

It absolutely never will. All of that money they "earn"? It goes to lobbying, bribing, deals and "gifts" to make sure it's never raised and regulation never happens.

This kind of thing is pervasive and fucking everywhere in this country. We're ruled by criminals and psychopaths, and people fail to see it because they're taught that these people are successful and earned their way.

No they fucking didn't, and they need to be dealt with.

Facebook is a major contributor to the downfall of our society.

The majority of people are not able to handle psychaiatrist-trained supercomputer-powered algorithms pointed at their brains for hours on end.

And the people who can do anything about it are either too old to even set up an email address, or on the payroll.

Still mad that Elon never fought him for my viewing pleasure. I would have paid good money for the PPV.

It's because of the admin you love, Joe.

Shortly after this clip, she asks him if he's had Zuck on and he says he has but "he probably won't be back after this" and laughed. He also said he likes Zuckerberg but he knows that people like that always show him the best side of themselves.

Pretty fair input from Joe I'd say.

I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt that this is actually genuine but it's hard for me to believe he's really this oblivious.

He had those guys that made the social dilemma doc on way back before all this that went over basically the same stuff

Besides that, does Zuck even need to come back on? He already used the show to debut his new guy act, job’s done.

If this were one of his ugly male guests (dealer’s choice), he would have definitely been thrown into one of his government-issued lectures, probably communism, but potentially COVID.

Zuck would just say some PR trained BS about how they take it very seriously and are working hard to combat and address it, etc. More lip service from these wankers ZzzzzZzz

This shit isn't new. Facebook has profited off of fraud for a long time.

Yet Zuck chills with this admin. They were a lot more frosty with the last one

Were they though? They are more actively and openly sucking up to Trump, cause that's what he likes. But things are basically the same as before. Meta, Google, et al. are doing whatever they want.

Surprised? Nah.

"Damnit Zuck, now I know why you were charging us so much for our alphabrain ads. I'm gonna have a nice chat with you at the Meta Apex next week!"

Haven't listened to a full pod in a while, is it normal for Joe to have a guest on then re explain what they just said from AI?

Facebook isn't alone in this shit. This is exactly what our government does. It's a pay-to-scam economy and has been for decades. If your fake lab is billing medic/aid/are for tens of thousands of unnecessary tests for hundreds of millions of dollars (new Coffeezilla video) then you simply pay a few million in fees and you continue to operate. It's not a fine or legal punishment, it's the cost of doing business. If you pay enough politicians enough money, you even get out of jail for free.

Sounds awfully similar to the fines corporations get levied by the government for no no's.

anyone crazy enough to join me in a short META / long RDDT pair trade?

Meta had already sold off a lot but it got a rebound when they released Muse so there should be meat on the bone still on the downside
