A Man is Getting His Hair Cut
And into the barber shop walks a boy about 5 years old.
The barber leans to the man and says "Watch how dumb this kid is."
The barber calls the little boy over and says, "Do you want this 1 dollar bill? Or would you rather have 2 shiny quarters?"
The little boy proudly exclaims "2 is better than one of course!" And takes the 50 cents and leaves.
As the man leaves the barber shop, the boy is standing on the street and the man says "hey, young man, you know that $1 is worth more than 2 quarters, right?"
"Yes sir" replies the kid, "But the day I take the dollar, he stops doing it. I make $2 a week this way!"

There's been some inflation since the last time I saw this joke.

Just wait. Soon it'll go up to two five dollar bills vs one twenty dollar bill.

The way I 1st heard it the kid bought ice cream with 2 nickels.
This version doesn't pretend that the kid could buy ice cream for 50 cents.

A man and a boy go to the barber shop
The man gets his hair cut then tells the barber to give a haircut to the boy while he’s getting a drink in the bar opposite.
When he’s done, the barber asks the boy to call his father. The boy “He’s not my father” The puzzled barber “So he’s your uncle?”, “Nope, I don’t know him, he just asked me if I wanted a free haircut”
