Racing Kart Question How do i clean my Junior Rotax?

Mostly what do i clean my Rotax with. I use i think R11 spray for the chassis, but it doesn't seem to work. What spray do i use for bodywork, chassis, and cooler? And do i remove all the things or just bodywork and wheels?

you probably either need something strong like brakleen or something specific like mothers R3 which removes rubber or a degreaser like simple green. Sonax also has a spray that is great for heavy brake dust but obviously the kart brake is at the rear at least in my experience doesn’t make the mess that track pads do to rims/car paint.

i’ve found on my car/helmet a bit of turtle wax ceramic coat helps keep it easier to clean, idk how much it’ll help on the kart though. haven’t tried it.

I second the r3 and simple green. My favorite things to use.

Depends on what part of the world your in. In the US SD20 on white body work and WD40 for the chassis with some microfibers is an unmatched combo (yes I get the wd40 collects dust, wipe your kart down between sessions 🙄) . ChanteClair for everything chassis and body work for you sissies in the EU (joking)

Brake cleaner for the kart frame.
Then GT85 or speed clean or similar for the bodywork. I also have some tyre mark remover. Also have Elbow Grease which is a domestic cleaner that works great on bodywork and the engine.

Carb cleaner for the carb.

We strip all bodywork, wheels, engine every time.

Hose body/chassis first if it’s muddy.

WD40 is an excellent cleaner.

it depends when. After an event we clean the engine first with gasoline and a pint brush and drey it with compressed air. Between Stints we normally clean with brake cleaner - overall brake cleaner is the got to for everything - but after a wet race we take a pressure washer for all and than cover all (apart the brake rotor and caliper) with WD40 to minimize corrosion.
