Canada and USA trade dispute
I have been following the Canada and USA trade dispute. I hope the dispute is temporary. Canadians and Americans will figure out a way out.

It's not temporary. Trump isn't the problem, he is the symptom of the problem. The US is an empire at the end of their hegemony, and history tells us they are flailing and gasping their last breaths.

It is a trade war triggered by one side which doesn't respect our sovereignty and wants us to economically collapse to annex us; calling it a dispute is disingenuous.
This was a trade deal that was re-negotiated just a few years ago by the same President, so I'm unsure what "way" needs to be figured out.
The only path forward is the one Canada has already embarked on - diversifying our economy and pivoting away from the US. We'll never make the same mistake of being overly dependent on one country, even if it happens to be our neighbour. In a way, I'd argue Trump has been a blessing in disguise for us. We now know to never bank on one country for our trade relations. Our relationship with the US has fundamentally been altered; this is a watershed moment in our history. Even if there is a more friendly President in the White House, this will serve as a cautionary tale to never be overly reliant on them and to never trust them again.
