Micro management in-house. Send help. I

I like the organization, my legal work, and most of the legal team. I work under a terrible micro manager who is a good lawyer but poor leader. She loves control, things being done her way, and is so slow to review things and complete tasks. Is it worth resigning and looking elsewhere or any recommendations for managing this frustrating issue? Reporting to the GC won’t go a long way because GC is far removed from the work we do.

Depends on the structure really.

If you don’t have mobility to move around and work under someone else and/or there is no delicate way to go over her head and sort out a way to make that happen; there aren’t many options.

But if ifs a big enough legal team thats plausible, and you really like the role otherwise, its worth a shot to go to the GC and try anyway.

But if you go over someones head and are stuck working under them anyway its usually not a recipe for success.
