Question Family Passes to Gift

Hi all!

Have a family member who lives in Lethbridge and largely navigates solo parenting due to their spouse working out of town. They have 3 kids between the ages of 8 - 14.

I'd like to gift them some seasons or family passes for a season of things to do in town to make it easier on them. If this were Calgary I'd be doing something like a Zoo, Callaway Park, Heritage Park, etc seasons pass.

What might be available in Lethbridge for me to gift to them? I'm not overly familiar with attractions in town or nearby. They do have vehicle access so transit is not a concern.

Thanks in advance!

As a similarly single dad (for other reasons), that is such an awesome and thoughtful gift idea that I’ve gotten from family and I personally very much appreciated

I’ve gotten YMCA passes and use them a ton. You can also get city rec passes that you can use for swimming (and skating?) at the city owned arenas.

Canes tickets, movie mill passes (which include mini golf), Color Me Mine, even gift certificates to some of the restaurants in town are also great ideas. Jump LA can be fun but gets mixed reviews, and passes for one of the bowling alleys would also work if they’re into bowling. There’s also Arcadium which is kinda fun.

Unfortunately Lethbridge doesn’t have as many family attractions as Calgary, but there’s still some fun family places to check out.

Depending on your budget, and if you’re open to things for them individually rather than a group, CASA has frequent art classes that can be a lot of fun.

Apparently jump LA just changed owners

Family pass for the pools could be an option I'm not sure though. Most of them are through the city except a few private ones like YMCA. However a family YMCA pass could be fun too as it has pools/gyms (unsure if it has access to the ice rinks though I don't think it does but I could be wrong)

Hurricanes hockey games, New YMCA water park and indoor sports, Henderson waterslides in summer, maybe a trip to check out the Fort Steele Minor town. They have many activities there to do like Gold panning, making butter and ice cream, candy striping ect. Trampoline park and laser tag arena aswell or the new arcade by the old Soundgarden by Parkplace Mall. There is also a few places here you can go horseback riding and jumping.

Fort Steele is in BC, more than a three hour drive from Lethbridge. You might as well just go to Calgary.

YMCA would be amazing. I don't know if you can gift a 1 month or 3 month membership or something.

The Shift Rec Centre in Coaldale is also awesome, and if you can get passes there it would be rad and much cheaper

Lethbridge Public Library gives away free passes to many activities.

You have a lot of good suggestions - just to add cause I didn’t see it, the Arcadium would be a good one! Especially since they have older kids! Maybe also some movie mill or cineplex passes, you used to be able to get cineplex ones at Costco that were like 2 tickets, 2 drinks, and a large popcorn!

The Galt Museum is cool if they've never been. I'm not sure if they'd want to be going constantly, but I'm sure they'd enjoy checking it out. They also host events sometimes which they may enjoy depending on what it is. I'd second gift certificates to Colour Me Mine and a pass to the YMCA. You may find more value in continual passes and not want to do one time visits or certificates, but we unfortunately have limited options compared to a city like Calgary so I figured I'd mention them anyway.

My wife and I recently started spending our off work time down in Lethbridge and have had a blast attending the Pure Power Wrestling shows they put on once a month. It's pretty cheap and a cheesy good time.

It would be a drive, but Drumheller has lots to do for all age ranges. We went glamping there and it was lots of fun. There are day passes for things, but unsure about season passes.
