I am NOT a locksmith. Master 4-letter combo lock stuck

Post image

Title. I put in the correct combo (not shown), and yet it won’t budge. Perhaps I accidentally changed the combo while turning the lock? I’ve looked online and apparently these locks are notorious for doing this

I would try fiddling with it a little more, like putting the combo in slightly incorrect a few different ways. Then just cut off if you can't get it. Padlocks are cheap to replace and getting a professional out to get it off would probably cost more than just cutting it off and replacing yourself

I'm just gonna cut it off, it's not even weather-rated anyways

It's a 4-wheel combination Master Padlock, not rated for weather, being used outdoors on a gate or a shed. What precisely did you expect would happen when you used it for this purpose?

Throw that crap away, and get a lock that's actually rated for the application.

Okay, thanks for the advice :)

I literally got a call yesterday for the exact same thing on the exact same padlock. Fiddled for a minute, didn't do anything, then stuck the claw of a hammer in the shackle, twisted slightly, and the shackled snapped.

Yeah I just won't buy this lock again, I didn't even think to account for the weather rating so I don't think it should've been on the shed in the first place.

They are cheap and known to drift.Try this...dial your numbers, now on the last wheel turn a number and pull shackle..if it dont open, turn to next number, pull shackle...repeat until you reach original number. If it didnt open, move to next wheel up.Repeat above process moving up the wheels..chance it might open.Iv got same lock, happened to me.Usually 1 wheel drifts..good luck

Didn't even think of the weather rating, I'll keep that in mind next time
