Discussion Since we’re already basically in offseason mode, how many wins does Fitz need to reach next year for you to be satisfied?

Post image

I think 6-8 wins shows me something to believe in, but he’s gotta bring in a T25 class, also firing Rossi and Sheridan

Bowl game is the bare minimum for next year.

That’s where I’m at especially if they actually do put up money this offseason. If you actually spend money in the portal and go 4-8 or 3-9 again then fire everyone again

Insane to think that there is a bowl game record here lol. There’s 4 wins tops

I haven't followed the football program for 3 years now, next year won't be any different

Im just waiting for the next coaching search to start next November. We got robbed of a plane tracker coaching search last year with Fitz's immediate hire. Hopefully we can have a couple weeks of fun next go around.

I've heard rumors that the red cedar message board pioneered the the plane tracker thing during coaching searches back when we hired dantonio

If he gets fired next year I fully expect the incompetent leadership to hire like Jimbo Fisher lol

It PAINS me to see CENTRAL MICHIGAN on the schedule. So disappointed that game has not already been cancelled

Still waiting for that game against central to get cancelled. I wouldn’t do anything to support that school for the foreseeable future

Unfortunately MSU admin doesn’t have a fucking backbone and are a bunch of little bitches that just accepted their apology.

Connor Stalions was under disguise on their sidelines in a game vs msu a couple years ago

Schedule from hell again, damn.

Bowl eligible, use whatever money you're getting to bring in a good class. There should be no excuses.

Make CMU pay us millions to play them

Duquesne, CMU, Rutgers, Purdue are must wins.
Notre Dame and OSU are understandable losses.
IU, Michigan, PSU, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Washington are the difference makers. Hopefully they can go .500 in those games and finish 7-5.

The thing that jumps out to me is we have a chance to win EVERY rivalry trophy back. Paul Bunyan, Megaphone, Land Grant, and Ol Brass spittoon. Rare opportunity in this new 18 team conference. For Fitz to not lose the fan base, he’s probably gonna have to get a couple of those. Paul may count for 3 though lol.

Satisfied? 7 wins.

We're not getting four.

Bowl game at minimum. But I will say, just seeing something positive outside of the field of play would be good. Primarily recruiting, can we get to a top 40 class this year, can we be big spenders in the portal and pull in a top 10 class. That would get me more excited and optimistic than a bowl game next year. I need to see that something dramatic is changing and being a 60-70 recruiting class and 40th portal class isn’t gonna be the new norm because that’s a MAC program at that point

Four of those are must wins, six feels realistic with wins over Washington and NW. I’d be happy with that.

8 wins, a win against michigan, and a win against a ranked team. Idc shit or get off the pot

7 with a win vs Michigan, 8 without.

My biggest think is January 16th. Thats (about) when the portal window closes.

If our portal class isnt top 20, and really top 15, we are fucked.

I would need to see at least 7 with that schedule. But 3-4 seems more likely.

There are seven teams in trouble this year on that list, you gotta be six of them. It’s doable with buy in, with resources and a new OC.

All home games in the first half and all away for the second? That’s weird.

2

u/LopsidedLawfulness 4d ago

It’s all date TBD for the conference games, they’ll switch around when the schedule is actually announced

2

u/foo592 4d ago

Oh thanks. Not sure how I missed that. Guess I’m just ready for next season.

2

u/gmanasaurus 4d ago

Only the first 3 games have actual dates, I assume this isn’t in correct order

1

u/Hacker-Dave 4d ago

Is this schedule real? We have 7 straight home games?

2

u/Training_Tomatillo95 •Jud Heathcote 4d ago

No, the games with dates are locked in the others are unknown.

Basically in offseason mode because the team can't/won't achieve your goals?

A lot of story left to be written this season, whether it is playoff growth, position battles, or scraping for wins after the fairweather fans have left.

4

u/kkrell23 4d ago

The season is over because

  1. They’ll either go 2-10 or 3-9, just gave up nearly 40 to a bottom 4 big ten team at home
  2. They’re one of the most injured teams in CFB

2

u/NachoManRandySnckage 3d ago

I love how people always say “fairweather fans” especially when the team has been garbage for 5 seasons in a row. Not wanting to waste your time watching a horrific problem means you aren’t a real fan LOL

1

u/StaticShakyamuni 3d ago

I love it too, that's why I used it.

No one's asking you to waste your time. There are so many things to explore in this beautiful world. If watching the team makes you miserable, do something else.

  1. Who actually scheduled Duquesne?

2

u/DocMcClain 4d ago

I'm far more concerned about Central still being on the schedule
