Questions Payments in Macau

Hihiii, I wanted to ask about shop payments in Macau. Is it possible to use wechat/alipay as non mainlander or use YouTrip? Or is it mostly cash HKD & RMB? Thanks!

You can’t use WeChat pay or Alipay in Macau without a Chinese ID registered.

I don’t know what youtrip is.

You can use cash - Macanese patacas or Hong Kong dollars 1:1, and many stores will take RMB, or use credit cards.

Just use cash. We have our own payment system but it requires Macau ID or a local bank account to top up.

Credit cards can be accepted but mostly on retail shops and not always in smaller restaurants and shops. Apple and Google Pay systems are very rare too.

Cash and credit card should cover everything. Bigger shops will usually accept card, cash for everything else. If you have an Alipay+ compatible QR app in your home country that may work for some places.

澳門幾乎所有商店可以用支付寶與微信支持。
