Not only that, Cookie Monster is typically a two-puppeteer puppet. This will be the case whenever you see both of his arms moving while he talks. Unless the puppeteer has 3 arms.
So you'll have TWO people next to you that you forget are doing it.
“the actual name is the raider’s march, not the indiana jones theme. as a true march one expects a fast syncopated rhythm of at least two hundred twenty to two hundred forty beats per minute. and it was actually two hundred forty beats per minute that john williams originally composed it. cookie monster is clearly well below two hundred forty beats per minute and truly does a disservice to john williams.”
I miss the whole duo and the show. I watched Jordan with Conan in that Without Borders. I find it best to watch clips on YT. The show is fun but not the same and drawn out imo
he just plays up his dislike for star wars since he's actually proud of it. It's just the rabid fandom that he hates. The indiana jones and blade runner fans tend to be far more chill
His biggest complaint about it was that he thought Han should have died at the end of Empire or begining of Return, as it would spur the rest of the characters onwards.
...which is fair. People tend to forget that he is merely an actor in the wider canvas of the franchise, not some overly-obsessed lore hound who has some giant sway on the direction of the property.
I too like Indy more than Star Wars, though its because it ties in with my love for history.
That’s because the Indy fanbase is almost vanishingly small compared to the Star Wars one, but there’s definitely obnoxious assholes there too if you look for them! But they haven’t been taken over by the culture warriors at the least.
Hardcore Tom Clancy fans are a bit too weird for me, though.
I think I remember seeing him say (or maybe this is inferring from things he’s said indirectly) that it’s because Indiana Jones is firstly a scholarly type character (he is an Archaeology professor after all- the adventuring is mostly his side hobby) and so Ford sees him as a more serious and respectable character.
Whereas Han Solo and Star Wars is just some space gobblygook that George Lucas cooked up lol
Alec Guinness had much the same thought too (he always considered it a cheap role and was annoyed that it overshadowed his more 'thespian' roles), wonder if they commiserated or Ford felt that way later instead.
If nothing else, Indy is also more grounded when compared to Han Solo. Supernatural stuff aside, the former does at least abide by real world history and events, so that might appeal to the more salt of the earth Ford than something more zany/fantastical.
I don't think he hates it. He liked his co-stars and he's done plenty of SW bits on talk shows. He just doesn't want to show up to cons and be asked stupid questions like "Who shot first?" or "Could Han win in a fight against Indiana?"
Honestly, he's probably never heard that song in that manner and it caught him pleasantly off guard. We need to remember that we would all be cranky if nearly everyone we met sang one song over and over and over again...
Now I'm reminded of the night Michael J. Fox was on SNL and they did a sketch where he was trapped in an elevator with a guy who kept singing "Gonna go back in time..."
The original is awesome. HF had probably one of the best 15 yes of movie making ever. If you start with a new hope and cap him at the last crusade, that span alone firmly puts him in the top 10 as far as box office performances.
He was in apocalypse now, the original trilogy for SW, the Indiana Jones movies, blade runner, the witness, etc....dude was basically a money printing machine. Then to think of all the awesome movies after the last crusade and his career has been unbelievable.
He also did Conan o brien and argued with chewbacxa in the audience, which was pretty awesome. HF can say he disliked star wars all he wants but I don't believe it....from my understanding the grumpy old man thing is a schtick
The hating SW has always been overblown. He very clearly prefers Indiana Jones, but it seems his main issue with SW was mostly that he thought Han should have died in Empire, and that him surviving hurt his character arc.
He absolutely loves doing Shrinking with that crew if you see any of the behind the scenes stuff. I think it's his best role ever and I think it's because he is enjoying himself and the show has a lot of meaningfulness to it.
I'm kind of realizing how great it is to pretend you're grumpy all the time and the amount of magic you can fill the air with when you're all smiles. The nice thing is that with Harrison we know it's pretty much just an act, but it's still always so cool when he's bubbly like this.
I have a picture of him holding me as a 4 year old. Never seen him smile as big as that picture. Apparently I told him how much I liked him in James Bond…..🤣
TBH I always found this kind of deal on sesame sttreet very awkard, because i found it awkward as a kid. and I can't believe I remember it, but I do.
No kid knows who the celebrity guests stars on sesame street are
No kid watching this (the target audience, supposedly) cares that Harrison Ford is a delight and a global treasure
I remember the guests would come on, and they'd make a huge deal, like: hey, kids! We have a very special guest, so get really excited! Are you ready? Are you ready yet? Seriously, get excited, because, it's Gobbitygook Randomadultface! Say hi to gobbilty, kids!!
And then we'd just be watching some old person talk to grover for five minutes.
He knows when he's in a kid's audience. Dude is embracing his grumpy side for adult kicks. I've heard stories that he's incredibly emotionally intelligent and reads the room very well.

I... was expecting grumpy Harrison Ford. This is delightful!
