Idk man... This is game in the cat world, but in the human world, if you stare at a woman and then touch her rear, you're gonna get jailed
57
u/DipstickRick Sep 08 '26
Is it though? It clearly didn’t work and looked very similar to a human interaction that we can relate to

The classic 'look the other way while I put my arm around her shoulder' trick. I see where men got it from.
1.3k
u/Borgqueen- Sep 08 '26
Males of all species will try to put their arm/tail around a female. Lol
214
u/mpgd Sep 08 '26
We are programed like that. Both male and female's alike.
As rational beings we learn not to act by instinct only.
It is fascinating how we have evolved.
31
u/discgolfallday Sep 08 '26
Females*
Female's is possessive. You don't need apostrophes to make regular nouns plural.
5
u/Main-Assist-8846 Sep 08 '26
Female and male are adjectives.
6
u/SB_strongbunny Sep 08 '26
It is both. Male as a sex is a noun, male's usage in male human is an adjective.
-11
u/Main-Assist-8846 Sep 08 '26
It describes the gender of a species. Women/woman and man/men are the chosen nouns for humans. Why not use those?
7
u/SB_strongbunny Sep 08 '26
This has nothing to do with whether it is a noun or an adjective. The first comment was a noun usage of it, so that's it.
If you want an answer anyway, it is the usage in statistics and biology and such. More technical term that applies to all species. There can be a female dog, not a woman dog after all. So male and female accounts species for all living beings, and humans, are just another species is all.

Not true. That's from the account Nala meets World on instagram. Lady cat on the right is Nala with her tiny head and boy cat is Diggle. They live in the same household. Diggle was there first and was super excited for her but Nala has always been very anxious so this was a big step for her.

Idk how to post pics on mobile so I can't put the exact screenshot here, but here's one of the videos where that clip of them is in, it starts at 0:06

Why the fuck does this have a translate button
95
u/VeneMage Sep 08 '26
I just saw that 😄
‘Rizz’ = ‘Charm’. Must be a generational translator lmao
42
u/ARC4067 Sep 08 '26
Wait, is “rizz” the original? Did it auto translate for me?
30
u/standbyyourmantis Sep 08 '26
Omg it did for me, too. On the app, if you tap the little Kanji on the top right it untranslates

This reminds me of when I thought I had a male orange cat. I never really looked until I realized she was squeezing a baby out.
40
u/heyheyitsashleyk Sep 08 '26
Aren’t female orange cats more rare? I’m not surprised you assumed she was a male!
37
u/DisastrousReputation Sep 08 '26
They are not that rare.
I have foster many many kittens.
It’s like 3/5 would be male and 2/5 are female.
Whats really rare is a male calico.
4
8
u/Makuta_Servaela Sep 08 '26 edited Sep 08 '26
Aye, cat colour genetics are linked to their sexes. It's also why a calico male is almost impossible without some kind of genetic anomaly. Although female gingers aren't as rare as male calicos.
2
u/heyheyitsashleyk Sep 08 '26
Maybe I was thinking of male calicos—now that you mention it, I think I had heard about that.

u/VeneMage Sep 08 '26
That slow feline blink 😄. What a charmer.
I learnt to do that slow blink whenever meeting new cats - it really works to show you’re friendly. After watching this, I’m starting to wonder if I’ve been giving off the wrong signs 🙊

Yeah, but that is not how cats normally act when introduced to new cats.
16
u/TackyPotato Sep 08 '26
That's because that's not their first time meeting, this is Nala and Diggle, theyve been living together for years, they first met through a door. The actual account this is from is nala.meetsworld on instagram

u/Von-Rose Sep 08 '26
Based on how the one on the left is squinting and the one on the right looks young, this looks like an adult cat trying to let the new member of the family know they're chill and to relax.
But people like to make up their fun lil narratives and it's sorta harmless
3
u/blueViolet26 Sep 08 '26
I am not talking about the narrative about the cat being a flirty. Just that newly introduced cats would not behave this way.
3
u/SherbetMysterious118 Sep 08 '26
Yes, someone has overlayed the vid with a false narrative, but it makes people smile still, so that's OK.
0
u/blueViolet26 Sep 08 '26
I have seen plenty of people asking if they can take their cats to a friend's house to have a playdate, so people can smile and know this is not how cats behave.
1
u/Daratirek Sep 09 '26
Most cats don't. A rare few are chill af though. My sister's cat is like this. Absolutely no fucks given and literally every pet hes been introduced to likes him in under 10 minutes. Its weird. My brother's cat HATES other pets but had to live with my sister for a bit while my brother was away and inside of 10 minutes my sister's cat was laying right next to her.

do people bring their cats to other people's houses now?? that's weird af
11
u/ZweiGuy99 Sep 08 '26
This situation seems pretty suspicious. Cat play dates, female orange tabby, and an OP with an 8 month old account with 340k karma. Just some repost nonsense most likely.
3
u/TackyPotato Sep 08 '26
If you really wanna smile, the actual story is that the boy cat Diggle is on love with this very anxious female cat named Nala, you can find them on nala.meetsworld on instagram. The story in the screenshot is a lie. Their actual story is super cute tho, I love their videos which is why I immediately recognized them. Also, Nala has a tiny head. Like it didn't grow much from kitten size.

u/gingersquatchin Sep 08 '26
Cats being socialized enough for impromptu hangouts if they haven't known each other their entire lives, is very unlikely.
If they were siblings or spent a large chunk of their early life together it might be possible to just pop by for a cat play date. But the reality is that integrating two Cats together is a lot of work and can take weeks or months, assuming it works at all.
