Smarter than half of American voters.
64
u/Chief_Mischief 23d ago
Simply untrue.
It's 2/3 of American voters. 1/3 actively voted for this shit, and 1/3 either didn't vote or protest voted third party with no realistic chance of winning because "Kamala has a weird laugh and isn't tough on Israel", thereby giving the election to the man who courted Netanyahu publicly for a decade under the political spotlight.

Trump is the worst president of my time on this planet. But kamal had problems that were not her laugh. I voted for her out of protest but I didn't want her to be president.

You make a golden retriever video political…. sigh. That’s why you will lose again the next election, you liberals never learn.

u/globalgreg 23d ago
I’m sorry, did I self identify as a liberal in my comment? Oh no, I didn’t. Telling.

We should all be like Percy, never give up. When the corridor of life seems to small and the stick is too big, sometimes you've gotta go backwards to go forwards.

Don’t forget to spin around

That was critical to get a 360 full scope of the situation. Percy has more situational awareness than an average adult

My little dog (picture a cross between the Snuggle fabric softener bear and Falcor from Neverending Story) got invited to a friend's birthday party because the friend's dog and my dog got along really well. There were cupcakes. There was a guy sitting at the end of the couch and he'd put a cupcake on the end table next to him. My dog was VERY interested in the cupcake but between my calling her away and his shooing, she wasn't able to get it.
She figured out that we were ONLY keeping a close eye when she was near that table. She went to the end table at the other side of the couch, jumped up, hopped on the back of the couch, ran along the back behind everybody's heads, and jumped down onto the table with the cupcake. Success!

Oh wow, a video I actually know the source of. Recognised Percy and the voice straight away.
Dunno if I'm allowed to but the page is called mylabrachildren. He absolutely adores these dogs. I think he was on the news in the UK with his dog Remy who he used to pull around in a cart he made because she couldn't walk.

It's a very good stick to be fair, I can see why he doesn't want to leave it.

u/thinkofanamefast 23d ago
We had a goofy doodle in our neighborhood. Always walked with a huge stick. She got stick donations from us nearby dog people whenever a nice branch fell off a tree. We’d leave by their front door.

It sucks we don’t have too much longer and we won’t know if videos like this are real. It will ruin content for me.

u/icaruza 23d ago
Myabe we'll all get out more to see things in real life, rather than in online videos

u/Life_Roll8667 23d ago
Right? Like that’s so difficult. “Sigh… How will I ever know what real life is anymore STARING AT MY PHONE”

It's already happening. Just saw a post where the most upvoted comment was saying AI about this tennis court painted with roses. Took a short Google search to find out it was real, but makes me sad that actual art is already getting the middle finger. AI is the fucking worst.

I’m actually pretty sure this is my local hike and bike trail, so I can verify the location is real.
1
u/Far-Tell-9027 23d ago
Are you sure? I’m also pretty sure I recognise the location but I think it’s in the uk (accent in the video backs this up) and therefore not usually described as a ‘hike and bike trail’. I’m curious whether we’re recognising the same place and just describing differently, or one of us is confident but wrong!
2
u/CheezusChrist 22d ago
Sorry, you’re right, I didn’t listen with sound on. We have a similar trail near me that has a raised walkway under a bridge with a creek on the left side, concrete wall on the right side, white painted wooden barrier, and teal paint on the concrete. Maybe that’s more common than I thought, lol.
1
u/Far-Tell-9027 22d ago
Haha, that’s interesting though. I looked up the instagram account mentioned below and from that can tell it’s definitely the local park I was thinking of - so now I get to look out for Percy and his sticks in the wild 😀

Serious question: Why dogs like to carry big sticks? Are they doing something with it?

They are similar to bones?
Bones have nutrients stored in the bone marrow. They are like little bank accounts of collagen, fat, and nutrients.

u/Poneke365 23d ago edited 23d ago
Yeah, not usually (there is the minority though)

u/Fine-Froyo6219 23d ago
Yeah mine didn’t get the memo. She’ll try and do whatever you say for a molecule of kibble but I wouldn’t call it smarts
1
u/Poneke365 23d ago
There will be plenty who fit that mold😁. I knew someone whose lab used to eat large stones off their driveway and would poop out the evidence🤷🏽♀️. He wasn’t the smartest boy but certainly was a loveable goof

Reminds me of my old dig. Threw some chicken out the window. She stood there and stared at it thru the window for twenty minutes before realizing she could go out the doggy door and get it. You could see the light bulb go off when it struck her.

The dogs yearn for turning spits.
We need to bring back the kitchen dogs.
Bet we can do it in 200 years or so.

The other… the other would do what Percy did lmao

My father always told a story about a Saint Bernard he had who loved sticks. For him, that meant branches of course. Somehow he slipped his lead because he saw a branch and was triumphantly running with it… right as church got out. Little old ladies just flying in every direction.

u/CaptainBoogieWoogie 22d ago
Again your claim is based on no existing evidence and you feel the need to enforce rules you are not actually sure exist. Maybe before calling people out, make sure there is actually a reason to do that.

Why is this dog off leash in a public park?
0
u/CaptainBoogieWoogie 23d ago
What makes you assume this isnt an off leash section of park
0
u/Kentust 22d ago
Well, I don't see any signs indicating that. As a rule, pets are generally on leash. Without any explicit signs that this a rare leash-free area, what are you basing your assumption on? Mine is based on most parks requiring leashes everywhere in the USA, and no signs or even pet waste disposal stations so this doesn't even seem like a pet park to me.
-1
u/CaptainBoogieWoogie 22d ago
Simply not enough evidence to assume any of that. There needs to be a sign what every 10 feet to know for sure?
1
u/Kentust 22d ago
Your assumption is entirely baseless when viewing the OP video. The burden of proof is on you.
0
u/CaptainBoogieWoogie 22d ago
As is yours…. Im not the one calling out op for no reason, so not sure where your logic is coming from here.
