I liked this story, but... the wedding photos. Proof the guy cares 0% about his appearance. That's not being ugly, that's being unkempt.

u/Fuzzy_the_sheep 9d ago

Those can sometimes go together. Chronic insecurity and lack of self confidence means thinking about how you dress is incredibly painfully uncomfortable. If you make an effort and look in the mirror and still hate what you see then why bother. It's hard to break that cycle

u/tracy_ogbert_jordan 9d ago

If you make an effort and look in the mirror and still hate what you see then why bother.

beyond that, if you don't make an effort, then people can't make fun of your failed attempt at looking decent.

self-esteem issues are a real motherfucker

73

u/Skellyinsideofme 9d ago

Yes, this is what happened to me when I injured myself and suddenly gained a lot of weight, after previously having a conventionally 'fit' body.

It didn't take long for me to stop doing a lot of my self care, and stop trying to wear nice clothes.

If I hadn't tried to look nice, then I couldn't have failed in looking nice.

It's a horrible place to be and it can be difficult to climb out of that hole.

322

u/Suzuiscool 9d ago

I never really gave it much thought but that's basically why I don't bother.

107

u/nuuren 9d ago

I was the same, until I bothered a tiny bit, I kinda liked it, and bothered some more, and now I'm quite okay with myself.

Idk, give it a smol try sometime. Finding something you like and rolling with it is kinda nice tbh.

40

u/Candle1ight 9d ago

Health and cleanliness makes you feel better regardless of your looks. Taking a shower and wearing clean clothes feels good, working out feels good, losing weight feels good, etc.

When it comes to fashion though? Trying on different clothes and realizing that I hate myself in all of them just makes me want to blow my brains out. My fashion will always be shit.

9

u/Adventurous_Click178 8d ago

Find a brand/style of jeans you like. Buy them in 2-3 shades (I like light, medium, and black.) Then get half a dozen crisp, clean cotton t-shirts that fit in colors you prefer. Get 1 pair of sharp sneakers. You’ll be good.

2

u/nuuren 9d ago

Fashion as a general, universal statement is shit, no doubt. I just hope there's something that you allow yourself to wear and be happy in, no matter what others think (which is how it always should be, anyway)

4

u/Candle1ight 9d ago

Plain shirts, shorts, jeans. I don't know about happy in, but they don't make me look like a slob and they're pretty boring so I don't feel like I'm standing out.

It's a bit of a shame because I have no problem recognizing how good some people look with how they dress, but I have a revulsion to apply it to myself. But I'm at a place where it doesn't seriously bother me so I'm pretty happy with that.

5

u/AnAnGrYSupportV2 8d ago

From one random internet stranger to another. I'm glad to hear you're in at the very least, an okay place.

22

u/Canotic 9d ago

Can't fail if you don't try.

2

u/eitherajax 9d ago

That was my mindset too, all throughout my teens and early twenties. I was too embarrassed to make an effort and pretended that I didn't care about clothes, hairstyling, or makeup. I wanted to look bad because I didn't care, not because I was ugly.

It turns out that grooming and proper fitting clothing makes a huge positive difference in how you appear to yourself and others. I look miles better now than I did before.

I still catch myself thinking that I can't buy certain things because I will still look ugly anyway. Just this week I talked myself out of buying a lipstick because even if it looks pretty on the model it wouldn't look pretty on me.

3

u/beccam12399 9d ago

start bothering yolo

158

u/Snerpahsnerr 9d ago

That was me in high school. I pretended I hated makeup because I was too scared if I tried it and I wound up still being ugly that I wouldn’t be able to tell myself I’d be pretty if I tried. Luckily I’m way better about taking care of myself mentally and physically now

29

u/Worried_Platypus93 9d ago

I was worried it would look worse and pathetic if I tried because I would still look bad

35

u/xrimane 9d ago

Yeah, trying to polish a turd in vain feels ridiculous and like you're losing the last shred of dignity you have.

12

u/Isabellake1 9d ago

i was stuck in a cycle like that, hating how i looked but also if i made effort to look nice and still hated how i looked it would completely crush me for days

3

u/Candle1ight 9d ago

The cycle of hope and crushing reality over and over wears the fuck out of you.

2

u/Dralakbadusk 9d ago

frfr, the only reason i started dressing better is because i found people that i was comfortable around and they genuinely cared and wanted to help me get better

2

u/Rooney_Tuesday 8d ago

God, I feel so seen. I have three older brothers who always mocked me regardless, but when I actually tried to experiment with looking cuter growing up the ugly insults got so much worse. I’m not actually ugly, never was. But I learned that I am, so I learned to dress down, wear baggy clothes, forego makeup, etc. I never got over it.

1

u/SadInsomniac_ 7d ago

This was me throughout high school

1

u/cachorro-quente3000 9d ago

This This this

324

u/Matchaparrot 9d ago

Yep. I had no friends in middle school at all. I gave up after a year of no friends and wore the same hoodies every day, and took no care of my hair because what's the point.

As an adult I now have more friends I could ever hope for, and the confidence to not give up until I found the people who genuinely care about me. I now take care of my appearance and really enjoy fashion now as a side effect. And people want to copy my style

43

u/Key_Curve_1171 9d ago

I can back that. I got severely depressed and tried to cut everyone off and self imprison myself to my room. I stopped doing anything really. I'm back to it all but actively don't want a group of friends. Only trusted people that I call as such but everyone at a distance. I love my me time and need a ton of it. Family is plenty for me and I'm not married or have children. My parents need plenty babying and I can barely manage that. I don't give a fuck about fashion anymore. I used to be so stylish in my own unique sense that girls would play with my hair and hangout with me and rub my shoulders and stuff. Being part of my friends circle meant you had access to a lifestyle, my dress sense was a major part of that.

Now I couldn't give a flying fuck

7

u/Top-Strawberry4466 9d ago

how’d you find those people

34

u/Matchaparrot 9d ago

I decided to stop caring about whether I had friends before trying new things and hobbies, so I did hobbies for my own enjoyment first and talked to people. If people were cliquey or didn't include me after giving it two sessions, I left and tried another society or sport. No point hanging around people who don't try to welcome you. Friendships naturally formed as I found societies I enjoyed, and they've lasted to today.

11

u/Top-Strawberry4466 9d ago

Thanks, I can’t seem to get over the clique barrier.

15

u/Sad-Ad4423 9d ago

Adding to what the previous poster said, I also started looking outside my own generation for friends. I’m an elder millennial who had one single friend for years (my best friend from high school). I have a lot of hobbies that attract people of all ages. I go to weaving classes, attend events at my library, and have gotten involved in our historic society, for example. I have good friends now that range from their early 20s into their 90s. It’s not necessarily one cohesive circle of friends who all go out together, but I prefer it this way.

70

u/VicisZan 9d ago

I had a similar but opposite problem. I was OBSESSED with being clean because I had such bad acne that it utterly destroyed my entire personality for almost 2 decades because I was taught that having oily skins means I should never ever touch moisturizer because it would be so much worse.

Turns out I have dry skin and it’s oily because it builds up on my skin. If I moisturize I get almost none.

Now I’m suddenly losing weight, enjoying being outside and I’ve almost completely stopped using tech because I was always outdoorsy as a kid and it turns out I still prefer it. I was just too ashamed to actually do it.

Edit: a typo

74

u/FerusGrim 9d ago

Speaking as someone who understands perfectly what you're talking about, I don't think this explanation covers not tucking in your shirt at your own wedding. Otherwise he looks genuinely fine to me. Hair a bit messy, but it'd probably been a long day, and they're outside with the wind blowing.

1

u/Ser_VimesGoT 8d ago

Was there no one saying to him to tuck his shirt in? Why would his wife not tell him to? It's baffling. Unless she doesn't give a shit about the wedding.

2

u/FerusGrim 8d ago

I don't wanna draw conclusions about these people from a few photographs. My point was more chronic insecurity is a real thing, but it just doesn't quite line up with what I'm seeing in the photos. It's entirely possible they're a couple who just doesn't care about the formality of a wedding. Plenty of people care more about the symbolism and the shared experience than they do the dress code.

It strikes me as a bit weird— I'm not saying it isn't baffling— but I wouldn't just assume it's a lack of care.

1

u/Ser_VimesGoT 8d ago

I think I'd be fine with that if she wasn't all dressed up with the bouquet. That indicates to me that she's interested at least somewhat in the tradition of it, or at least making the effort for it. I'm a big supporter of making a wedding what you (the bridge and groom) want it to be, but if your bride dresses up like that you gotta match the effort. I wouldn't say no to getting married in a Star Trek original series movie admiral outfit, but if my wife is gonna be wearing a traditional dress then heck no!

29

u/BruhWaitWut 9d ago

I'm not gonna lie, I'm still caught in this cycle some days. And it's silly, I'm in my 30's but an Adventure Time quote from Jake actually really helped me.

Finn: "Don't you always call sweat pants 'give up on life pants', Jake?"

Jake: "I do, because peeps need to respect themselves when they leave the house. Even if it's just for ice cream or TP or whatevs."

14

u/nuuren 9d ago

The "sucking at something is the first step at being sorta good at something" was a bit life changing for me. Adventure Time is such a good show.

103

u/MoaraFig 9d ago

Yeah, except that this was a day where his wife wanted to look nice, and spent a lot of time on hair and makeup and he knew that his wife likes the way he looks, and he still couldn't tuck in his shirt or comb his hair.

15

u/MurderedRogerAckroyd 9d ago

His hair is combed, it's just been blown around by the wind because they're outside and it's relatively thin hair. Mine does the same thing.

His shirt was tucked in, you can see that. It's wrinkled by his waistband, the way shirts get when tucked in. He untucked it for outdoor photos, for comfort/ease of movement. There are pictures of me with no shoes at my wedding; I wore heels and took them off.

She's very beautiful and he has a goofy face, but we don't have to pretend Mr T-Shirts and beanies didn't dress up for her when he's in a literal suit and tie.

Don't make me defend a man, come on.

41

u/Fuzzy_the_sheep 9d ago

His wife who he met because she likes him how he is? That wife?

Just cos she wanted to look pretty doesn't mean she needed him to be different. I know fuck all about this couple except this post but it seems like she likes him how he is and you're deciding he needs to be different.

44

u/Medium-Complaint-677 9d ago

I like my wife for who she is the way she is and I still expect her to put on nice clothes when we go somewhere nice to do something nice, and she has the same expectations of me.

26

u/Random-guy-199 9d ago

Sometimes in a relationship you do things for the other person. She sure as hell wanted him to look nice at her wedding, dont kid yourself

60

u/XionicativeCheran 9d ago

This is a pretty toxic viewpoint. "You liked me at my lowest so don't ever expect me to try."

0

u/FishyFishermen 9d ago

Lmao at all the comments completely missing your point

→ More replies (1)

14

u/XionicativeCheran 9d ago

We need to stop creating excuses for people. It's his wedding day, however insecure you are... tuck your shirt in and try. It's not just about you today.

1

u/Phoenix92321 5d ago

Some people I find look better with the shirt untucked. For example I Don’t like tucking in my shirt because of body confidence issues and have been told when I keep it untucked it looks better. Plus based on a video title I assume he is from Sweden possibly so they may have different

1

u/XionicativeCheran 5d ago

That's not the case for this guy. So there's no real reason to give him that excuse.

Sweden isn't different in this respect either.

There's no reason he couldn't have tidied himself up a bit.

1

u/Phoenix92321 5d ago

Well either way it’s their wedding so the wife must have been atleast content with it or didn’t fuss. Not our right to fully judge. However what I AM judging now is apparently he is actively a shit person who dumped his (people are calling her) less pretty girlfriend for his newer prettier wife all within a month

1

u/XionicativeCheran 5d ago

It's definitely our right to judge, that's the point of free speech, and something they open themselves to when they willingly post it in the public domain.

I agree, he is also a piece of shit, possibly that contributes to his lack of effort.

9

u/Worried_Jellyfish918 9d ago

Can't help but feel like most people would believe you hated them if you dressed this way on the day you're marrying them. I've had GAD my entire life and I get it, I really do, but come on man

7

u/I-am-fun-at-parties 9d ago

I can't think many of those people would also be youtubers

18

u/OozingSubstanceRage 9d ago

And yet Asmondgold exist as do many others.

2

u/FreshChocolateCookie 9d ago

That’s how I feel right now - coming from someone who was put together before lol

2

u/The_Absolute_Dog 9d ago

Hey it me. Can't polish a turd as they say

2

u/spekt50 9d ago

Can confirm i had shit confidence for a while, and it showed in my appearance. Once I made a small change in my life, it gave me a bit of confidence, and drove me to make more changes.

My confidence is pretty high now, and my appearance reflects that.

2

u/_bonedaddys 9d ago

when my self esteem was below sea level it showed in how i dressed myself. it was just a bunch of low effort, thrown together outfits and i always kinda looked like i had just rolled out of bed after sleeping for 18 hours. it was a really deep hole and it was hard to get out of but as my confidence grew, my style changed. i was actually willing to make an effort because i finally felt like i was worth making one.

for so long i just thought i was too fat or ugly for stylish, cute clothes. why bother doing my hair? it won't make me look any better. i'm not wearing that pretty dress because everyone will laugh at the ugly girl thinking she can pull it off.

2

u/Icy-Quiet-2788 8d ago

Not even that - dressing takes skill.

I do think that he tried here. This isn't a lack of effort to me; he's not wearing skater shoes, or anything mismatching. He probably just thought that the untucked shirt looked better because it hides his stomach a little....The length of the tie is odd.

Most people don't dress themselves well. It takes practice!

2

u/Fearless-Tap6075 8d ago

Thanks for this.

1

u/Typeau 9d ago

This is why I haven't taken a selfie for probably 14 years. I already hate how I look, why would I want to show that to people.

1

u/ROD3RLUD3 8d ago

I'm very insecure and lack self confidence.

If you make an effort and look in the mirror and still hate what you see then why bother.

I generally don't really worry about how I dress. I just prefer wearing shorts and short-sleeved shirts, anything comfortable. And at work, I usually wear dress pants and a nice-looking T-shirt. I'd never thought about it the way you put it, but you're spot on... so much so that I don't even know how to feel about it now.

1

u/johnnydanger91 8d ago

It’s his wedding. Make an effort.

1

u/eliz1bef 9d ago

I feel seen by this comment.

Plus he is an a-hole

https://www.reddit.com/r/ugly/s/q9fi5G1ZzM

Snagged from another comment, the dude dropped his first gf because she was not pretty enough.

259

u/shiorimia 9d ago

Wow, I’m glad you shared this because wtf. Seeing the comments he made about his ex (who is also not ‘conventionally’ attractive) is disgusting.

Clearly this guy is ugly on the inside, not just the outside.

76

u/BalancedDisaster 9d ago

Incels doing incel things.

10

u/Kaneda-Suekichi 9d ago

Well he gets women so not incel just misogynistic asshole

16

u/marshmallowenema 9d ago

Incel is a state of mind

→ More replies (1)

13

u/BalancedDisaster 9d ago

Inceldom has been an ideology more than a state of being for a long time

1

u/SrPicadillo2 8d ago

As much as I agree with you, I think lately it's been used as a way to "legitimize" that male virgin = incel = loser, unfortunately I've seen the word "virgin" being used as an insult more often lately (even by so-called feminists at some point)

My tinfoil hat theory is that even the etymology of the term "incel" is designed to spark divide.

1

u/godgoo 5d ago

That's not really tin foil. Or a theory....It's literally a portmanteau designed to cause a reaction.

2

u/SrPicadillo2 5d ago

Well, maybe I should've worded it better: The elite, as part of their online propaganda, purposely design malicious vocabulary that they themselves astroturf into general acceptance, thus alienating non radicalized male virgins even further as the general population starts mixing concepts and some of them start assuming that every virgin male is an incel and that's the reason they're virgins, as in, they're secretly trash, etc.

9

u/Sun_Aria 9d ago

Good. Expose dem

4

u/RisenSlash 7d ago

tf is a "looksmatch" these people really need to touch grass

1

u/Silent_Republic_2605 5d ago

Incel forum terms which means someone equal to your looks which has been absolutely normalized by the younger gen z and gen alpha kids. I was lowkey having a headache when a decade younger sister of mine was telling me about mogging.

6

u/papa-hare 9d ago

I'm so confused, she's really pretty in that picture, I like her more than current gf idk

9

u/ModeratelyAlive 9d ago

But is that actually what happened?

100

u/madd74 9d ago

I mean, go far enough down the rabbit hole and read the comments and articles and seems pretty true to me. Dude is ugly on the inside more than the outside.

If you go on Youtube talking about not finding love, have a girl comment to you, date her, then dump her when a "hotter" woman comes around that's a-hole in my book. Yeah, it's my opinion, but that type of hypocrisy lives ramped enough in today's world.

2

u/FineBed3567 5d ago

Dam, and she was beautiful too. I guess his insecurities were projected on to her. I imagine she’s a beautiful as a person too, probably projected that onto him

1

u/Actual-Rabbit-5775 6d ago

I dont see anything wrong for chasing something better, cant he deserve something he really likes? or does he have to stay with his first ugly gf instead of being with whom wants just because other people disagrees with him and wants him to stay with someone ugly? I mean, he obviously is going to prefer the pretty girl and I don´t see anything wrong with it. I think that if you start having another desires in a relationship then fate isn´t there.

414

u/skadi_shev 9d ago

He def could have tucked in the shirt and done something with his hair (a comb and a little pomade) for the occasion

158

u/DrAlkibiades 9d ago

My guess is he was nicely put together but they wanted a 'sloppy' pic for the 'gram. Given the whole 'ugly duckling finds love' thing.

78

u/MoaraFig 9d ago

I wondered that too, but it looks untucked during their vows.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/cybiz 7d ago

Lol this guy was dating a girl for 5 years and he ended up dumping her because she wasn't pretty enough. Ugly duckling my ass

1

u/[deleted] 7d ago

[deleted]

2

u/cybiz 7d ago

I mean, he dumped the girl the moment the prettier girl dm'ed him. Kinda changes the whole story if you know the context

33

u/Constant-Plant-9378 9d ago

Likely his priorities are just ... elsewhere.

My mom would say, "There is a slipper for every foot."

I hope they have a long and happy life together.

62

u/jman12234 9d ago

His shirt is wrinkled at the bottom. The event was probably over and he untucked it. People just inventing reasons to hate on an ugly guy.

94

u/meumixer 9d ago

It’s also untucked in the screenshot of the video, which seems to be during the ceremony. But like, if his wife is cool with it and he’s cool with it then whatever, have your shirt untucked during your wedding. Not what most people would do but it’s not a sin.

7

u/Confident_Air7636 9d ago

I've been to a few summer wedding with casual dress including the bride and groom. But realistically she is not going casual.

2

u/ElvenOmega 9d ago

That's exactly how it was. If you watch the video, there's only like nine people there mostly in casual clothing. It looked like just their immediate families were invited and it was meant to be low key. It was also super windy, which I think is what wrinkled his clothes.

41

u/XDVI 9d ago

No one is inventing that he looks like dogshit in every photo, and not because he is ugly but because he is lazy and has the fashion sense of an 11 year old.

4

u/whenwillthealtsstop 9d ago edited 9d ago

Nah, it's that way through the ceremony itself. She's walked up to him at the altar with his shirt hanging out already

6

u/skadi_shev 9d ago

I’m not hating on him

1

u/ProblemAvoidist 7d ago

He deserves it

3

u/frankyb89 9d ago

That line isn't a wrinkle from being tucked in. That would actually look wrinkly all around, this is a straight clean line across. It looks more like the line that's there when you first unwrap the shirt. It's his wedding he can do whatever but that shirt was not tucked in at any point.

179

u/Kamikazepoptart 9d ago

I know! I was so shocked at his clothing. Like dude....you could make a BIT of effort.

58

u/Marine_Corp 9d ago

It was such a sweet heartwarming story until I got to the wedding picture and then I immediately thought "OKAY kinda fuck this guy. Can't even tuck your shirt in for your wedding?? Why are you wearing a tie for a small boy?"

I don't want to prescribe motivations without knowing them, but this dude clearly doesn't want to try to be attractive either.

40

u/Kamikazepoptart 9d ago

It was so disrespectful to his wife IMO. Like look at how much effort she went through to look nice for him and he doesn't even gaf enough to do the same for her.

3

u/Marine_Corp 9d ago

I would imagine she doesn't feel disrespected and doesn't mind, but I would haha

-4

u/Redeem123 9d ago

Or maybe the smiling girl who actually knows him and is marrying him wasn't offended at all.

8

u/Kamikazepoptart 9d ago

Then she might have low self worth

1

u/Bleaker82 9d ago

prescribe motivations

ascribe

1

u/Marine_Corp 9d ago

Can't it be either?

2

u/i_want_internet_69 9d ago

It's pretty clear what the intent was, but "prescribe" really isn't correct here. You aren't prescribing anything, you're describing if anything. Prescribe has to involve giving somebody or something a directive.

1

u/Marine_Corp 9d ago

I thought that's why it made sense, since I'm giving them emotions they might not have.

But I do take your point and I do love a good technical detail.

1

u/Bleaker82 9d ago

He beat me to the explanation. Prescribe isn’t remotely correct in this situation; describe isn’t correct either.

Ascribe has a specific meaning: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ascribe

The closest words in context might be presume, or attribute.

58

u/theshiniestmuskrat 9d ago

I imagine this poor girls parents were horrified. This guy must have one heck of a great personality or something.

35

u/Zingus123 9d ago edited 9d ago

He’s quite wealthy.

Mainly because he e-begs and constantly grifts

7

u/natur85 9d ago

I don't think it's about him being wealthy, I think it's about exiting life and Sweden is the best place to do it. It's underpopulated, it's quiet, has vast nature, has a strong social wealth system, you can get a house for cheap, live in the country with your ugly kids and be happy. Better than dealing with handsome assholes and being poor in Portugal/Latin America.

17

u/snurph 9d ago

underpopulated ... quiet ... vast nature ... house for cheap ... happy

laughs in urban swedish no im not crying

247

u/flerchin 9d ago

Right. Tuck in your shirt and brush your hair for your own wedding ffs

36

u/ShooterOfCanons 9d ago

And bring that tie down a button or two lol

36

u/orbofdelusion 9d ago

It looks like he’s wearing a child’s size necktie too.

120

u/BuffaloSp0rts 9d ago

With a good haircut, dressing normally, and a bit of cosmetic dentistry he’d probably look quite good

62

u/TheDrunkWickerbeast 9d ago

Genuinely I tell people who think they want plastic surgery and stuff because of their face shape to start with braces. Self care matters sure, but braces can completely change your jawline and some facial features. For some people (like myself) it’s like night and day after getting braces.

13

u/othermegan 9d ago

Yes! Braces and a more flattering haircut go a long long way

99

u/AizenSankara 9d ago

I think that's the consequence of feeling like your ugly and unworthy of love. You don't see the need to look any better (you'll still look ugly), and you lack the practice/experience with basic things like how to care for yourself (hair styles, products, proper clothing sizes, etc..)

42

u/QuokkaOfDeath 9d ago

Totally get that. But also, a good (wedding) photographer does way more than just take the pictures. They should've at least told him to fix up the outfit right there and give them advice about posture and poses

12

u/celestialcranberry 9d ago

Oof I didn’t even see the shirt untucked. I was gunna give him a pass for the hair because of the wind but idk. Maybe he posted the worst photo to be funny?

2

u/Responsible_Prior_18 3d ago

he doesnt tuck his shirt, you think he is spending money on a good photographer?

1

u/freixe 9d ago

I feel this way. I still take care of myself.

1

u/Itscatpicstime 7d ago

Exactly. There are levels to attractiveness but this guy with average effort is average at MINIMUM But if you put in bottom 1% effort you'll get bottom 1% results.

Just be self aware. You aren't unlucky. You just don't try. Call it what is it.

If they happy though that's there business and not caring about your appearance shouldn't disqualify someone from being happy so I'm glad things are working out for him.

u/PlanesandAquariums 9d ago

Too true on the third paragraph. The problem is this guy was true to who he was with a seemingly good heart (I’ve seen his videos before) and didn’t turn into a weirdo incel. As many of us have even experienced IRL, they often do.

I think some people feel worse about themselves when they make an effort, even if it might move the needle a little towards looking better than usual. The reasoning being that if you change all the things you're supposed to and still look like shit, then all you can blame it on is the ugliness intrinsic to you. Whereas if you don't make an effort, you look like shit, but at least a charitable onlooker could blame it on your clothes and hair.

I, for one, feel much more self-conscious when "dressed up". If I haven't put put effort into my appearance, then sure I might not be someone's cup of tea, but I'm just doing what I want to do. If I've clearly put effort to try to look good and have abjectly failed, it feels kind of pathetic.

u/ulfric_stormcloack 8d ago

This was me at the beginning of my transition, I still can't do makeup or dress femme without feeling like everything that I don't like gets massively highlighted by it

3

u/Resident-Bit2202 9d ago

Tuck yo shirt in! Wtf

8

u/DJL2772 9d ago

Clearly his wife didn’t mind so it doesn’t really matter does it?

5

u/aomt 9d ago

Staged/for the media.

7

u/Uchihaboy316 9d ago edited 9d ago

I mean not really, his shirt should be tucked in and his hair is likely like that because he has to cover a really bad hairline, otherwise he’s clearly trying

I need the gym so bad. I'm not FUGLY as is, but being short makes being fat just that much harder/worse. I weigh less than my brother by 100 lbs but look like I weigh more because I'm 5'5 and he's 6'2. Don't live in an area where walking for exercise is really an option, and I don't have a car, so I'm trying to teach myself everything I can about body weight fitness that doesn't require a lot of room since I'm living with a hoarder and literally don't even have the room to do an Taebo tape.

1

u/ImACynicalCunt 9d ago

I have a treadmill/walking pad that folds up flat so you can easily store it under a bed or couch. I don’t recall the brand but I got it on amazon for less than $200 and it’s still going strong with over a year of at least an hour of daily use

He looks like he's dressed for school, not a wedding.

I've seen people in better fitted suits at work.

1

u/hofmann419 9d ago

No he's not. I'm sorry but not tucking in your shirt in YOUR WEDDING is ridiculous. It's borderline disrespectful to the bride, because it takes like 10 seconds to tuck in your shirt. If you actually gave a shit, you would tuck in your shirt.

u/BadPom 9d ago

I was really hoping his attractive wife would give him a glow up, because I do think he has the potential.

2

u/CakeTester 9d ago

Some people look good in clothes and some people don't. I'm in the latter group and can look scruffy in a tailored morning suit.

7

u/East_Requirement7375 9d ago

Yeah, but she also doesn't care. So, it's nobody's problem.

4

u/ModeratelyAlive 9d ago

Choosing to focus on that is weird... It's not your wedding, so why does that matter when they're both happy?

1

u/astralseat 9d ago

Because if it becomes a story of public discourse, and continues in public, a bunch of losers on Internet will comment stupid shit. I'm happy for him, but he's forever internet's bitch now. People will rehash his past over and over, even if he is no longer reading anything about himself.

1

u/ModeratelyAlive 9d ago

That's the risk of posting online, I guess 🤷‍♀️

It still doesn't explain why we've gotta focus on his unkempt habits. Some guys are just kind of like that, and some people might care, others might not.

4

u/Ninjalion2000 9d ago

Are you talking about his hair? Cause her hair its also a bit messed up in the photo and they’re by the water so it’s probably windy.

3

u/bad_squid_drawing 9d ago

for me its the shirt and tie.

dude just needs someone to dress him...

4

u/QueerPuff 9d ago

I think he has a chronic illness or disability which might play a role here

2

u/iommiworshipper 9d ago

Why because his shirt is untucked?

1

u/One_Animator_1835 9d ago

His videos have millions of views so at this point its either his full career or at least decent money every month. Can't be surprised if he leans into it and plays it up.

1

u/HypocHatR 9d ago

the wedding photos

whats wrong with them? yeah the shirt should be tucked into the pants, but the shoe, pants and tie are okay

1

u/reeft 9d ago

A haircut and different glasses would work wonders on him as well.

1

u/some_unicorn_boy 9d ago

Some people don't wanna smear products in their hair, even if its windy and even if it's at their wedding.

1

u/theodoratoverspin 9d ago

Yeah, sometimes, "ugly" is a choice.

1

u/Medium-Complaint-677 9d ago

"being ugly" is probably his schtick. A couple of those photos - the gender and life update one where he's wearing the hat - pretty much prove he can look good or at least better when he feels like it.

1

u/FoxxyPantz 9d ago

He kinda reminds me of Luke from Outdoor Boys. Not conventionally attractive but he knows what suits him and is extremely passionate about his hobbies and people find that hot

1

u/theloneavenger 9d ago

if you can't tuck your shirt in on your wedding day...

1

u/Sioney 9d ago

Or it's part of his online identity and they both decided they'd roll with it for the story. I've seen weirder things happen

1

u/TotalDrama_Milf 9d ago

Story is really ruined when you find out he already had a gf that he just didn't think was pretty enough and was rather rude to. Watched a YouTube video a while ago that deep dived the situation.

1

u/Equilibror 9d ago

Why dont you give your pile of shit a nice hairstyle - cause i pile of shit is not worth it? ...right?

1

u/Careful_Swordfish742 9d ago

It does look windy in the photos, and it could be that he has his jacket unbuttoned for comfort after a long ceremony.

1

u/Brownie-UK7 9d ago

That untucked shirt was bold move.

1

u/HELPER4014 9d ago

C’mon what do you get from saying that?

1

u/Coreypollack 9d ago

Im halfway with you, some people just don’t get it though, or like feels like he has to look a certain way and try, but not pull it off because he’s just not comfortable in a suit. Some people just suck and being fancy.

1

u/lbh43v3r 9d ago

That's just being Swedish.

1

u/AudibleKnight 9d ago

I dunno. The messy hair could be due to wind blowing. The clothing choices could be a lack of fashion sense. The untucked shirt, the very short neck tie, the straight fold pocket square that is sitting too high out of the pocket. All of them are odd but deliberate choices.

1

u/Merctune 9d ago

My polish mom would’ve walked right up there and started tucking his shirt in without even asking first

1

u/Naughty_Teenie 9d ago

True
He would already look a lot better if he tried to maximize his appearance

1

u/steveronie 9d ago

Or he was just going wooooo with his hands up in the air just before the ceremony and didn't tuck his shirt back in

1

u/MeThatsAlls 9d ago

Exactly what I thought. Give.him a nice suit and haircut and a bit of time working on himself hed look fine

1

u/BandicootGood5246 9d ago

Wtf with the little baby tie. Lwhy did his wife let he get away with this lmao

1

u/MarshalOf_TheBigIron 9d ago

It’s also very likely he was never taught how to properly.

1

u/ZTOOZJEWISHZ 9d ago

His girl dont care so why do you lol,

1

u/AwesomesauceGaySex 8d ago

I don't know, I think it's pretty hard to keep your tie and hair in place outside in windy weather.

1

u/Therealbuffy1200 8d ago

I had the same thought!

1

u/Extension-Maybe3736 8d ago

Yeah this guy isn’t even that ugly. He just puts next to zero effort into his appearance. How is he gonna not even bother to tuck his shirt in with his suit?

If he worked out 3x a week and didn’t eat pure slop he’d already look way better. Then just get a normal haircut and stop wearing ugly ass hats all the time, he’d look normal at least

1

u/JudoExpert 8d ago

Fr how did his friends let him get married without correct his fit

1

u/msproles 8d ago

Yeah, while he can’t change the shape of his face, he could make more of an attempt to dress well, a good haircut and decent clothes (doesn’t have to be expensive) can make up for a lot.

1

u/Speciou5 8d ago

Yeah, if he blew up, he 100% got stylists and personal trainers and such probably reaching out to help him for free. He likely turned them all down.

1

u/LMBH1234182 8d ago

Yeah having an untucked shirt at your wedding is a choice for sure lmao

1

u/WeirdNickname97 8d ago

Thats what I am saying, dude aint ugly, he just doesnt take care of himself at all, we talking he cant take a shower and wash his hair or get a proper cut, this plus the fact he had a gf who he apparantly dumped for this new one makes him into lucky swamp lord.

1

u/justpassingby--- 7d ago

Honestly I think it’s just his brand. He’s just keeping up with it on socials.

1

u/llamashakedown 6d ago

Nah, that’s his schtick…

But yeah it’s ridiculous.

1

u/KaladinTheFabulous 6d ago

He didn’t even tuck in his shirt jfc

1

u/MintTeaAndT 5d ago

100000%%% cause you can still tuck in your shirt and do your hair, his wife made such a fuckin effort jesus.

1

u/crossiantsandbunnies 9d ago

I know on days I feel really ugly and insecure I avoid nice clothing and dressing up because I feel like it will look worse on me than looking like a bum. So that’s what I think when I see this. Although… He should have at least brushed his hair or at least she should have brushed his hair.
