Easily done with a tiny 6aH lithium 12v battery. And there are tons of options when it comes to lights and illuminated strips.
Also you can get tiny mist units that you can illuminate so it looks like your floating on a mist of red or purple light as you go along...
All very fancy looking.
And don't forget a small bluetooth speaker system for your very own soundtrack...

I've been using a wheelchair since age 11 (I am nearly 55 now), and been married not once but twice, and I feel blessed for both and the partners before. Its not the chair, but the heart and soul in the person pushing it. You got this. Seriously. Just be you and love life, and the right person will find you and you them.

Thanks and great question! It does, but my core is strong enough to hold me. What is more of a pain is lack of armrests, as my shoulders get sore when I work without arm support. Its a tradeoff for maneuverability. I have a second chair with a taller back for travel when we are going up hills so people can help push me if needed, but that chair is significantly heavier.

I suppose the chair’s lighter weight makes it easier to get around, but the lack of armrests can be inconvenient when you want to rest your arms. Your partner must care about you very much to have gotten these for you. Wishing you two all the best!

I’m a quadriplegic and this is a great explanation! Usually lower backrest and no armrest give you more maneuverability, as higher backrest (esp when higher than your shoulder blades) can block the backward motion of the arms, just like armrests can block the side way motion when turning and possibly get in the way if too far away from the seat. (English is not my native language I hope this makes sense).
As for me, I have no core due to my high injury level, so I will need both a high backrest and a more contoured one/ lateral support (in case I tilt sideways). I still self propel when outside because a power chair is very heavy and clunky, so the backrest is still lower than my shoulder blades. I have a chest strap to compensate for that!

Can relate to this. I have a progressive muscle disease and have a hard time pushing, so I attached a "Smoov" motorized wheel to the manual chair. I will probably need a full motorized chair someday, but the powered wheel helps for now in all but the toughest terrain.

My insurance wouldn’t cover a smoov (categorized it under entertainment) but I have a power assist of another kind as well! Manual pushing is definitely not sustainable 😭 I have a rare neurological disorder on top of an SCI, and I personally find it quite hard to have to constantly adapt to the changing needs and balance between what I might need in the future and what I can afford to deal w now. I’m glad you have a supportive partner through all these!!

Thank you! That's pink, almost fuschia, with some purple lowlights. I really like color -- spent 30+ years in corporate life and now that I am retired I get to have fun.

Thanks! Yes, they attach with velcro straps and pop on and off within a minute or so. I think the next set is going to be a dragon chasing its tail around the wheel (something like a Chinese dragon), but we have a grandbaby on the way any day, so it might have to wait awhile.
