lol amazing your wings are perf
You could maybe go heavier on the mascara if you wanted but looks great the way it is

Honestly thought about it but was nervous it would get all clumpy lol but thank you!!

56

u/Square_Point_5677 Jul 26 '26

Buy an eyelash comb/brush combo. Only a few dollars and sweeps away the clumps.

19

u/silveracidreign Jul 26 '26

Eyelash combs are wonderful! They definitely help to separate the lashes and keep mascara from looking clumpy.

3

u/Original_Bright104 Jul 27 '26

Are those spoolies or combs? I have a spoolie I use to comb out my lashes after applying mascara.

9

u/silveracidreign Jul 27 '26

It is a comb. Here is a picture to show what it looks like. You just run it through the lashes after applying to separate them. Hope this helps.

Try a lash curler 💛

12

u/throwaway098764567 Jul 26 '26

keep it clean though, if you let it get dirty with mascara then use it, you can accidentally remove your lashes.

2

u/freakyfroggymage Jul 27 '26

Or worse get a nasty eye infection! Eye makeup hygiene should probably be higher up on everybody's list lmao

4

u/Rabid-Squirrel-14 Jul 26 '26

Came here to say this! Will make the eyes pop without clumping on loads of mascara!

u/Moon_whisper Jul 26 '26

You can apply it in thin coats and apply several coats. Just remember when doing the top lashes, remember to apply to both sides (top and bottom) on the lashes. And ONLY use a lash curler on clean eyelashes before applying mascara.

Ok so when you’re putting it on, you’re going to want to wiggle it a bit left and right (a TINY bit, like shakey shakey) as you’re going along the lashes. Experiment w this. Grab a bottle of Clinique’s liquid makeup remover and some cotton pads, so if it gets out of control or you accidentally hit your eyelid you can fix it 😆

erin parsons recently posted a good tutorial on tiktok on how she layers up. she’s a pro mua!

Those wings are better than mine with years of off and on trying. 🥳

5

u/Least-Dust-2312 Jul 26 '26

Yes I was gonna say heavier on the mascara or some subtle falsies. Also some lip liner would help! But overall great for being new to makeop

You look more warm toned and the pink you've chosen for eyes and lips is very cool toned. Which is a valid artistic choice! But for comparison's sake, you may want to try warmer tones and see what you prefer. Happy experimenting!

52

u/Tough-Tart-8520 Jul 26 '26

My original intention with the color was to try to match my nails, but in hindsight I definitely get what you are saying! Thank you so much!!

17

u/Tootsie-Louise1 Jul 26 '26

I used to try to match my makeup with my clothes, polish, whatever. Now I just wear what looks best on me. I agree with the others that you did a great job, but experiment with warmer shades to match your skin tone.

5

u/oceangirl227 Jul 26 '26

I understand the tones theory and am warm toned myself but you sleighed the pink. It’s perfect.

u/gwendolynflight Jul 26 '26

Agreed, I think something more like a rose tone for the lips could be lovely.

the secret with eyeliner is that u actually don’t need to line the entire top of your eye, gradually thin it out about halfway down ur eye! the thickness of the line on top is making your eyes look weighed down.
you could also likely go lighter on your base products, but you don’t have too. Your base is smooth and flawless, so if that’s the look you’re going for, it’s done well. However, thinner bases that are more undetectable are a bit more on trend. it’s a matter of thinning out your application and hydrating your skin, mixing your foundation with a little moisturizer would do this pretty effectively! to be crystal clear though, if you like this full coverage matte look, then it is done perfectly.
lips are a little intense. liner that’s bright blended into your lips a little and covered with a gloss like you’re wearing will give you the same bold colour and look without it looking like your wearing someone else’s mouth.
edit: re: mascara comments: you could use double the product, but it would be less noticeable that
you have a light lash going on if the liner was thinner and sharper. right now the weights don’t match and putting a ton of mascara on would probably result in your eyes looking half closed.
you look amazing and for being NEW to makeup your wings are on point, your blending is perfect (do not take this compliment lightly. blending is a sore spot for some of the most gorgeous girls i know.) you’re colour theory with your own skin tone is beautifully done and you have avoided looking cakey or weird in any way! you could change nothing about this and have it be gorgeous and iconic for years to come.

u/Tough-Tart-8520 Jul 26 '26

Thank you so so much!!! You gave me a lot to think about but I will 100% be taking all of this into consideration!

4

u/Dangerous_Young919 Jul 26 '26

I just learned so much. Thank you!

2

u/insha2 Jul 27 '26

I think the thick line is actually really adorable on them. They have a good amount of lid space to get away with it. Definitely agree on the lips and making foundation more moisturising

Everyone is being really kind and encouraging here, but I want to be real-real: you look cakey! Less may be more with your skin, especially if you have texture, or fine lines. Focus on moisturizing, exfoliating and prepping your skin and then just do a touch of foundation where you need it.

Your lips are precious. The wing is fierce. Get that skin right and you’ll be unflappable.

17

u/Tough-Tart-8520 Jul 26 '26

Honestly I agree but I havent figured out how to not get it to be cakey! Lol my skin is definitely more textured than some so in my mind more foundation = less texture, but thank you I am for sure trying that next time!

11

u/alliwilli92 Jul 26 '26

You are likely just using too much foundation. Start with less then build if necessary.

I dab the foundation on my face in tiny dots on my cheeks and forehead then work it in with a beauty blender or foundation brush. If you need more, you can add it but it’s more difficult to remove without using makeup remover once you put too much. If you have any spots that need more coverage, spot fill those with a matching concealer.

5

u/Natural_Cake_5905 Jul 26 '26

Korean foundation/skin prep videos on youtube are amazing for clean, natural base looks!

5

u/Natural_Cake_5905 Jul 26 '26

also, using glycolic acid overnight twice a week or so (like the toner type from The Ordinary) or other exfoliating acid toners can refine your skin texture by a lot. it's like night and day for many. (don't forget to wear sunscreen though!)

4

u/Purple_Bill6384 Jul 26 '26

Skin prep is half the battle! Get yourself a good exfoliant and sunscreen. I love the sunscreen Beet the Sun which has skincare built in, and a little Paula’s Choice BHA. I do both those things, and then a little moisturizer. Once my skin is clean and moist, I dab on foundation just where I have redness.

Most think foundation should be a blanket, but really it’s best as spot control!

2

u/Mental_Confusion_113 Jul 27 '26

You don’t need foundation, swap it with spf tinted moisturiser, or tint foundation as it’s light, not cakey and u can build it and not look cakey and if u do then u can learn to stop one layer is enough. For blush pls use big fluffy brushes not the ones that MUA show on vids , blush should be used as an accent even if u want a deep look, with fluffy brushes it applies so much nicer, evenly onto the cheeks compared to thick dense brushes or stipple brushes, contour and bronzer I’d say the same a fluffy angled brush. Contour r cool tones or greys to sharpen ur natural bone structure, use to above the cheek one rather directly on top of it and brush it up and more towards ur ears than towards ur cheek, bronzer is for depth & warmth same area or slightly under the contour shading, it can be tricky to match contour w bronzers as ppl use it then looks muddy. I’d recommend to not place it anywhere past where ur natural arch is or mid section of ur eyebrow so avoid it looking messy , chalky or muddy. I add highlighter and bronzer on my ears when I’m done , tint under my jaw and below my ears with the remaining product left on the blender or wtv i use. When u hold brushes i find holding the end of the brush is better for control, and how much gets done onto the face, holding the brush closer to where the bristle is kinda punches it into ur face, and goes on to strong. Always blend blush, contour, lipsticks and warm it on the back of ur hand, a paint palette even, or use the lid of ur makeup. Light hand is better than a heavy one.

u/alliwilli92 Jul 26 '26

Agree! A good sticky primer from Elf before application would be good and regular exfoliation like from The Ordinary a couple times a week and a scrub once a week would be great.

3

u/Guera-or-chicana Jul 26 '26

Lady, I need you on my shoulder. For everything. You were assertive but tender. Just amazing! This is a good friend!

19

u/Terrible-Curve6520 Jul 26 '26

Hey there, I'm a professional makeup artist here so I'm giving you purely advice on my opinions do with them what you will,

  1. Start with an eyeshadow primer to help your eyeshadows pop 🎉 ( and they will last longer) for drugstore I recommend the milani eyeshadow primer. For high end I recommend the urban decay eyeshadow primer potion (they also have a mini if you want to try before committing to the full size).

  2. With your foundation it looks a little dark/ wrong undertone for you. I'd say you're more cool toned. Maybe use a moisturizing primer or setting spray as well.

  3. With your eyeliner I think it looks cute but a tip to make it even better is I use these little cotton swabs with makeup remover filled inside them. Because to be honest with you I still suck at eyeliner. They're called alleyoop makeup remover swabs, you can get them on Amazon. Also consider getting a pencil eyeliner and lining your upper lash line to make the liner and your lashes blend more seamlessly and it'll make your lashes look thicker.

  4. With your lipstick it's super cute, maybe just go in with a lip liner first to get that super crisp line. ( Drugstore I like NYX, high end I like MAC).

I'm in no way trying to be harsh or hurt your feelings. I think you definitely have some good skills. If you have any questions feel free to message me :)

8

u/Tough-Tart-8520 Jul 26 '26

Thank you so much!! Im looking for all the advice I can get so I truly appreciate it!

15

u/GuavaGiant Jul 26 '26

you’re doing great! I think the wing on the right side looks really good. you could clean up the other side with a q tip to make it match

8

u/oliv-_-mae Jul 26 '26

You did way better than my first ever attempt. You just gotta learn some tips and trics so make it look seamless: More concealer/contour, less foundation, use an eyelash curler and apply mascara on the bottom lashes as well. The top lip looks the tiniest bit underlined.

Overall you did great, it's a learning process so don't stress about it. Less is more, especially in the learning stages.

8

u/d1rty-l1ttl3-s3cr3t Jul 26 '26

god i need to relearn how to do my eyeliner, those wings r gorgeous 😭

11

u/honestyaboveall Jul 26 '26

Those wings are amazing for a beginner!!! There are already so many great tips in the comments, but just wanted to let you know I’m seriously impressed

2

u/Mental_Confusion_113 Jul 27 '26

Same he did an amazing job for first time imagine with more practice and knowing how to work with his face and own features instead of following the features of those online, he’d look amazing.

5

u/briilar Jul 26 '26

The undone eyebrows are distracting from all the great work you did

5

u/maribbluv Jul 26 '26

hey! #1 skin texture is absolutely normal, BUT there are things that can help make it not appear cakey. firstly skin prep. wash your face with your desired cleanser. wait about 1-2 minutes or for your face to fully dry and apply a hydrating serum to plump the skin. wait 1-2 minutes for your skin to fully absorb it and apply a moisturizer, let this sit for 5ish minutes. after this apply suncreen (even if its not “sunny”!!!! very important!!!) and lastly a very sticky primer (this will also help your makeup last longer). then apply your makeup. personally i don’t like using foundation because it feels heavy sometimes, so i instead use a concealer as foundation, i love the dior forever skin corrector. you also look a little orange/yellow in some pictures, this might just be the lighting, but i suggest going to a sephora or ulta and getting your shade match and undertones. they do this completely free and you don’t have to purchase their makeup.

and thats all i think you did absolutely amazing for your first look. feel free to ask about any specific products and i’ll also be happy to share my personal makeup tut as well 😊

3

u/amscraylane Jul 26 '26

I think it is impressive you got both eyes to match. I feel like when I do even simple eyeliner, I look like a Picasso painting

3

u/Nomdeplume211 Jul 26 '26

The wing is SHARP! Nicely done. Ps your nails look absolutely gorgeous and feminine.

3

u/teabenderr Jul 26 '26

I'm gonna be completely honest...sorry if it is negative. I feel like the makeup (style) makes you look older. I can see you aren't that old, but it is because of the makeup and/or colors.

3

u/DoxNDux Jul 26 '26

I suggest some orange color corrector on your chin and lip. Elf makes a great one called “camo color corrector” Other than that, no notes babes. Well done 💕

3

u/TurnoverAdorable5377 Jul 26 '26

Maybe try a straighter wing and def way more mascara

4

u/Razrgrrl Jul 26 '26

Babeeeee those wings?! I still can’t get them symmetrical haha. This looks quite lovely. I also like the pop of color for the lippie. Bold but still pretty and sweet. ;)

4

u/eviwonder Jul 26 '26

I am 44 and your wings are better than mine after practicing for 30 years. Pretty baby angel. Keep it up!

2

u/ExtremeComedian4027 Jul 26 '26

You look so sweet! More mascara and eyelash curler would be my suggestion but beyond that, I think you did great!

2

u/bigchunguu Jul 26 '26

I personally feel like the pink you are using does not compliment your skin tone. I would try lipgloss and eyeshadow that is more brown/orange/red than pink

2

u/silveracidreign Jul 26 '26

I think it looks great! I would just curl your lashes and apply more mascara.

2

u/punkinpuddingpop Jul 26 '26

I am a big fan of clean up those brows lol and pencil them a bit. Makeup really is objective. I prefer a defined brow

2

u/Raccoon_Army_Leader Jul 26 '26

Dumb question but did you just take these after finishing your look vs are these at the end of the day?

4th pic is likely the lighting but lips up look great. I’d be interested to see how the tip of your chin looks thru the day bc it looks a bit cakey/dry/heavy application (?) and when mine looks similar, I noticed my makeup gets patchy throughout the day even when the rest of my face is fine.

Eyes are great no notes on that

2

u/Tasty-Revolution-295 Jul 26 '26

The only flaw I see is that your foundation is a bit heavy. Could be the type you're using, the application or lack of skincare prep. Everything else is great.

2

u/commonsense973 Jul 26 '26

You did really good. I like that you used softer make up and the pop of the pink lipstick! Suits you!
If you did your own nails, you did really good
😊 you look pretty.

2

u/moonshai55555 Jul 26 '26

As a former winger eyeliner fanatic, how the hell did you get those wings so perfect??

→ More replies (1)

2

u/sir_thrillho Jul 26 '26

I feel like a lip colour with a bit more of a rosy tone would look nicer on you! Also well done on that wing, it's immaculate.

2

u/ButteredScallop Jul 26 '26

Those wings look so good on you

2

u/DoodooDynamic Jul 26 '26

I’ve been trying wings since I was 16 and still look like a panda every time. Amazing job!

2

u/Top_Kale_9486 Jul 26 '26

I really like your eyes

2

u/AquaGalaxyGirl Jul 26 '26

That eyeliner it's amazing! I think you're going in the right direction.

I'll recommend to try on some mascara or eyelashes, but you are doing it amazing ❤️

2

u/abibofsweat Jul 26 '26

perfect amount of blusher, try a teeny amount of highlighter along the tops of your cheekbones, we want to make those things pop!!
Loving the pops of colour, I would probably either go for the bright eye or the bright lip, not both but it looks super cute on you.

2

u/indiebreadkid Jul 26 '26

Damnn okay! Those wings are on point!!

2

u/WorstLeonaNa Jul 26 '26

I'm so bad at makeup so I have no real comments or suggestions. Just came here to say I ADORE your nails

2

u/whimsicallyopen Jul 26 '26

Oooo love this, very cool dude!!

2

u/RachelFourie Jul 26 '26

Your wings and brows are amazing. You have a warm skin tone so avoid cool pinks and rather try warm pinks/corals. Try using a more sheer foundation as you can definitely get away with it. Really good job 👏

2

u/Litkat99 Jul 26 '26

First off I love the lip/nails combo! I think you nailed it (hehe). Also the wings are AMAZING especially as someone who's still new to makeup.

I guess my only advice really would be to try maybe a lighter base. You have a beautiful complexion by the looks of it and the foundation seemed to be just a wee bit heavy. I'll also piggy-back off another commenter who suggested a bit of a cooler tone for the foundation as well.

I'm also a little on the cool side and so far the best match I've found is the Haus labs foundation but I've read it's not the best on everyone's skin, so take that advice with a grain of salt. (I'm a fan but at $70 a bottle you can definitely shop around)

Overall though this is a great look and suits your face really well!! It's giving that "sexy office siren" look that was going around a little while ago and you killed it!!

2

u/Paper_Plate97 Jul 26 '26

Try a lash curler and a tubing mascara and maybe a brow gel😊 other than that you did a great job!! 😊

2

u/lashawn3001 Jul 26 '26

What nails are you wearing picture one?

3

u/Tough-Tart-8520 Jul 26 '26

Olive and June press ons, I personally like the OPI ones better but I thought these were cute!

Hey my love. Pro makeup artist here, love seeing you be creative. If you ever want to experiment, smokey eyes are something that would definitely go well w your eyeshape as well as earthy tones on your eyes and lips (Browns, greens, golds)

2

u/Tough-Tart-8520 Jul 26 '26

I love the smokey eye look it just seemed a bit ambitious for me to try, but thank you I will definitely try that out!!

2

u/Rich_Tie_5333 Jul 27 '26

The lip is fabulous but I think you can do better with the foundation color match.

2

u/bubblingbooks Jul 27 '26

Heavens to Betsy, you have the most heavenly renaissance looking lips I’ve ever seen in my life. Only to be rivaled by the painting on the ceiling of Versailles.

2

u/RavioliContingency Jul 27 '26

The wings are ughhhhhhh so good.

2

u/Mental_Confusion_113 Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

U did a great job!

Some makeup recs to buy if u want! Curl ur lashes and use a volume or any waterproof mascara try essence princess u can find them on eBay/amazon for a good price, great quality! I usually get a black pencil and tightline the upper lids it’s hard to do at first but u keep ur eye open and darken the top lid only, just below the upper lash to pull it all together! Check out the pearl highlighter from primark it’s like £2 very nice, shiny, natural! It’s a rectangle one, gold ends & borders with pink in middle as the box design. Nyx illuminating primer is good affordable , very natural, very light but adds that nice inner glow to come out as u might not like the feeling first. If u ever want to try a new base, I recommend Nyx glazed £10, u can layer it but u wont need to , think of it as a light cover, a tint, very natural, light, breathable, nice finish and easy to apply and blend in. I usually use my fingers to warm it up and pat it into my face like a sunscreen. If u want more coverage u can get Nyx bear with me, £8.50, again buildable. Makeup revolution spray £5.50, Cherie mist from the beauty crop is so nice, very fine, silk finish, adds a dewy look that’s not greasy or sweat looking £8 on TikTok might be slightly less, I recommend the melting balm they have it’s easy to take off makeup, it’s aloe Vera , unscented, and reusable container. Melting balms at first when u use it on ur eye it feels like it’s still there so jst use a damp towel to dab it away. Mask fit make up fixer £12. Rimmel lasting finish fix and go £7.48 so underrated! Don’t sleep on Mac cosmetics, Essence, Maybelline, ofc elf cosmetics too! Collection cosmetics used to be very popular but they have good quality! Makeup revolution have the best eyeshadow pallets for the ranges they have and shades a new brand called Fyne cosmetics have wonderful quality for everything, esp the highlighters! Don’t spend more than £5-£7 on lipliners & lipglosses, not worth it , u can find local makeups in local stores that acc hold better!

Do keep in mind if u do use NYX it can sometimes separate on ur face meaning it rubs off, spots or doesn’t sit right so u need to make sure the products u use before hand is more durable and works with it, I found using serums & Nivea cream works best, so I assume it’s water based makeup. When u use blush start with the lightest colours as the base and then a slightly brighter on top use a cream one first, set with baking or translucent power so it stays then top it with a powder blush or a baking blush powder. If u want to make ur eyeliner thinner, then look for Korean or Japanese eyeliners on TikTok, they’re thin and easy to use. If u find ur eyelashes not holding mascara, again go for a Korean or Japanese mascara as it might be thin, fine or too silky. Oil lip balms & oil lipglosses are popular but I don’t recommend only bcuz it moves to much and spills, so when u line ur lips it goes out of the lines making it look sometimes unclean, ofc when u do ur lips u can clean the edges to make it sharper. If u ever use red, the best way I suggest is warming it up on the back of ur hand and using ur fingers to apply on ur lips or a brush for that flirty daze effect but go for a cool tone red or dark red not Taylor swift red unless u use it as a blur and line it with a slightly darker red or a brown.

P.s never buy anything from Instagram, no matter how tempting, esp the adds lol, even if it says kiko…go to the direct website or third party sites like the beauty bay , look fantastic, cult beauty, SpaceNK, amazon (double check).

2

u/Street-Tailor-8009 Jul 27 '26

Girl u ate the house down
Def curl ur lashes and use mascara (I recommend using them on the tips of ur lashes only.)
Good and affordable mascara : I heart extreme by essence (the pink one) UGHHH IRS THE BEST and will give u a false lash effect.
Or if you dont get that much volume, I’d definitely recommend you try out lash clusters

2

u/lxzgxz Jul 27 '26

This is an incredible first attempt actually

2

u/Kalisatra Jul 27 '26

You need to do a photoshoot with some make up looks from the 20s and 30s!!! The symmetry of your face would devour that era

2

u/Born-Conversation971 Jul 27 '26

Wow brilliant for being new to make up! Throw some lashes on that have a cat eye effect for a more glam look. Would love to see the outcome.

2

u/MintGirl296 Jul 27 '26

It looks so good! And I'm so jealous because I'm not really new to make up but I still can't do my eyes liner as nice as yours!:<

2

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '26

You look amazing, one small thing i would suggest is maybe go thinner with your eyeliner (wings) and a little tiny bit heavier on mascara. Being new with makeup is mostly about experimenting, so LETS EXPERIMENT!!!!!

2

u/Either-Action-7439 Jul 27 '26

Eyeliner is on fleek but id play with the shadows more. Go darker in the crease (neutral tones) and  light on the lower lid and right under the brow. It'll make your eyes pop more. Agree with others on mascara.

You may also want to consider getting your brows cleaned up a little. Learning how to fill them in and clean them up is a huge game changer when it comes to makeup. That's my biggest makeup cringe when I look back on photos from 20 years ago.

Keep playing around and have fun with it! YouTube tutorials are great for trying different looks.

2

u/Live-Baby5824 Jul 27 '26

the wing on the eyeliner is actually so good for your first time, i can never get mine that even lol. that lip color looks great on you too!

2

u/infirednom Jul 29 '26

i think subtly overlining your top lip would really suit your lip shape

6

u/Tough-Tart-8520 Jul 26 '26

IMO you look a bit cakey and missing lots of mascara, but maybe that’s what you’re going for?

Other than that good job! :)👏

2

u/SpanishGold_ Jul 27 '26

More blush! Always more blush 😍 id go heavier on the mascara too. Other than that, your face is BEAT

ok thanks 📱📸 you can stalk makeup brands social media they always post their lip combos. i think what you're missing is a lip liner.

Can I just say those nails are just 🤌

1

u/Jolly-Biscuit Jul 26 '26

I really like that lip color on you!

1

u/luna_unica Jul 26 '26

Your base is really really really nice! How well did it keep up during your day? I like that you are not afraid to use color! Makeup is fun! I also believe your blush placement is great! Your facial structure and lips reminds me of the actress that stars in The XFiles. Agent Scully

I’m going to give you some personal recommendations. I can see you like cool colors, so I’d recommend a foundation with a cool undertone to complement your lipstick (When they have different undertones, it can look odd or "compete" for attention).

You could try an eyelash curler, I’ve heard the Shiseido one is good (you can always soften the curl with a little warm water). The mascara is fine, but I’d choose the waterproof version that can be removed with a micellar biphasic makeup remover (waterproof because it keeps the curl longer and doesn't "fall out"). You could try blur-effect powder or filter-effect compact powder to make your skin look smoother.

In my opinion, you could try a lip liner, and you might feel more comfortable with a more nude lipstick; I recommend Super Lustrous in the shade Rum Raisin from revlon.

Your wings and pink shadow are immaculate 🩷🩷🩷

u/seniairam Clueless Newbie Jul 26 '26

wings are winging

1

u/hilarymeggin Jul 26 '26

Beautiful! You know, with that color palette, you could even go for a little sparkle on the cheeks, nose and chin.

1

u/barracudab1tch Jul 26 '26

I love the colors you used! You look great!!!

1

u/claireb1017 Jul 26 '26

What eye color? I love the pink lid color 🤩

1

u/Internal-Anxiety-985 Jul 26 '26

The hair is rocking! (Sorry that’s not helpful lol)

1

u/cherrymelo Jul 26 '26

ur waaaaay better than me at makeup than when i first started out!! my advice to refine & finding ur style: waterline, contour, pluck/trim/thin out ur brows & find what brow products work for u to fit ur makeup style since it feels out of place w/ how much makeup ur putting on, try out diff styles of lip application like lip lining/ombre/etc, look into color correcting products some spots so the skin makeup overall looks even!! also would highly recommend using mini q tip if u wanna make ur wing even sharper 😌

1

u/matalia0 Jul 26 '26

looks amazing for being new to makeup!! my only tip would be to clean up the brows a bit for a more polished look but that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. looks good either way :)

1

u/Shopper2524 Jul 26 '26

You did great, better than me!

1

u/dewhashish Jul 26 '26

a pretty good job, and your nails are super pretty too

1

u/RespectFew4439 Jul 26 '26

Your eye makeup is awesome. I would buy a tubing mascara and maybe use a bit more of it. I would say that the lipstick is too bright, I would go for a more natural colour and maybe even matte

1

u/MelaninMadness Jul 26 '26

So cute!! I think you could do a little experimenting with your eyebrows maybe? You can try shaping them however you like and then filling them in with a pencil? I found that experimenting with eyebrows, especially mine because they grow back sooo fast, can really set the tone for a look. Thick and angled looks great for a dark and sexy look, light and straight brows are popular with a soft and cute look, short and straight eyebrows are perfect for an alternative look, and so on.

It looks really good! My only advice would be to use moisturizer before you put the foundation and/or powder on. It helps the makeup stick to your face more so it’s less cakey

1

u/AlexisdoOeste Jul 26 '26

Very respectable wings! I agree that a bit of mascara would help.

1

u/meowtoof Jul 26 '26

gorg! that color suits the shape of your lips so well. i think some warmer tones would elevate your next looks, maybe a warm blue/green for shadow? subtle pops of color like that look really good on anyone

1

u/Njapy Jul 26 '26

Hey OP, everybody has already giving you good advice so I'm not going to extend on that. Overall you really did amazing :) But when I see the tone of your face and the colour of your eyes and hair I think you would look amazing with some dark blue and copper eyeshadow.

1

u/ShortbowVillian Jul 26 '26

Your lipstick is AMAZING!!! You look great! Some lashes are always fun, but totally up to you.

1

u/Emjay0877 Jul 26 '26

🤩✨️😍

1

u/Perfect_Problem777 Jul 26 '26

I loveeee the look! Maybe add some lip liner next time for your lip?

1

u/-nxplnd Jul 26 '26

New to make up and you do eyeliner like thisssss ?? Wow imagine when you're a pro 🤩

1

u/Argonian_mit_kasse Jul 26 '26

Honestly, awesome!

As someone’s who’s been doing my makeup for what… 15+ years? I still struggle some days to get my wings looking good.

Nice job!

1

u/KHC1217 Jul 26 '26

Agree with the comments but very good job overall. As a person who has worn glasses all their life, I suggest getting a more fun pair the next time you get some. I think a frame with softer edges would look less harsh.

This looks amazing! But I would look into a skin care routine that has an exfoliating effect. I would highly recommend either the Asian skin care subreddit or the skin care addiction subreddit. Only because I can see a rougher texture through your foundation- which an exfoliating routine with good moisturizer will help. But your application is great!

1

u/mrsbaudo Jul 26 '26

OBSESSED with that pink lip!

1

u/alkanoid19 Jul 26 '26

Beautiful 💜

1

u/armalei Jul 26 '26

You look incredibly beautiful! You lined your eyes perfectly!

1

u/robberonyour6 Jul 26 '26

Great smile!

1

u/notulonley Jul 26 '26

Pretty nice for a first time!!! Looks really good on u, you should try eyelashes later

1

u/Bubbly_Disaster_8828 Jul 26 '26

Fantastic! I love your jewelry and glasses and nails also

1

u/Dazzling_Garden3268 Jul 26 '26

Perfect to me! 👍

1

u/1blue1green Jul 26 '26

Are you trans? Only asking because of the features and makeup, perhaps asking a female friend to help with it will make it all blend in a bit better.

1

u/kidcharliemagne Jul 26 '26

I love it nice job more eyeshadow and more lip are the obvious next steps

1

u/ArmFallOffBoy Jul 26 '26

Keep it up, brave one

1

u/Kathrac3 Jul 26 '26

Perfect wings

1

u/TempleDavisOS Jul 26 '26

Your wings are done so well. I wouldn't ever guess you were new to makeup. You got skill! Beautifully done. 🔥

1

u/Emergency_Value_6738 Jul 26 '26

you did WAYYY better than i did on my first try😭 what type of tutorials did you watch? your eyeliner is so perfect omg

1

u/Landlockedmermaid30 Jul 26 '26

Eye makeup is amazing. A darker lip would suit you better than the bubblegum pink color— also maybe try over lining the top lip a tiny bit to round out the Cupid’s bow. Big props on how great your wings are!

1

u/anon1948 Jul 26 '26

Beautiful!

1

u/Angry_Llama07 Jul 26 '26

You did awesome! I’ve been using make up for a few decades and still can’t do my wings as good.

1

u/Sccifisme Jul 26 '26

I need to know how you did your wings!! You did fantastic. Just some color advice. Brown and tan colors for you eye shadow will make your eyes pop. Keep doing it you look great!

1

u/pauliestyrene Jul 26 '26

You did great 🫶🏻

1

u/Ok-Word-2044 Jul 26 '26

So good! I think lashes would finish off the look!

1

u/beautifulmonk581 Jul 26 '26

Actually you did pretty darn good

1

u/nachoaveragegal21 Jul 26 '26

INCREDIBLE wings!!!
Eyelash curler and 2 mascaras are my go-to.
I love L’Oréal Voluminous Lash and Covergirl LashBlast.
Also, if you shape/clean up your brows a little I think that would be the icing on the cake 🤌🏼

1

u/lunariver55 Jul 26 '26

You did great!!!

1

u/Diligent_Isopod_3211 Jul 27 '26

Love the eyeliner, I'd try maybe a few different tones of lipstick to see what suits best, I feel like the lipstick is not the right shade for you but if you love it that's all that matters. Also not something you asked but the earrings are wrong for your face shape. They drag your face down. You need something less dangly or not as thin to round out your face.

1

u/No-Wish-7258 Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

The eyeliner is surprisingly clean for a beginner, great job!
I think bright lipsticks like that are a thing of the past, now the sheer coverage lip or the blurred edge ombré look is more popular, but if you like the retro look more, do whatever you think works for you.
However this type of retro lipstick does age people a bit because of the bright color and also because the style is more used by older generations, so it has an “auntie” vibe to it.
Although some elements are outdated, the technique itself is solid.

1

u/NoSpecialist6122 Jul 27 '26

Wow!! Really, really well!

1

u/thriftthrift Jul 27 '26

Super pretty!

1

u/boring420 Jul 27 '26

Great job

1

u/ArmApprehensive3726 Jul 27 '26

It looks really good! I think some lash clusters or even strips would go really well with the eye makeup

1

u/Certain_Ganache8976 Jul 27 '26

You did a great job 👏🏾❤️🫶🏾

1

u/LeslieKnopesBlackEye Jul 27 '26

You were gorgeous before, but then I saw your smile! Stunner!

1

u/Sovmasu Jul 27 '26

Your wings are mwah chefs kiss!xxx

1

u/pruunes Jul 27 '26

Way better than me and I’ve been at it for 34 years lmao

1

u/arivera508 Jul 27 '26

You scored a wing that I still cannot achieve at 35! Good job!

1

u/Beemo-Noir Jul 27 '26

Holy shit that’s great!

1

u/Sweet_Sinner_69 Jul 27 '26

You look just amazing!

1

u/Bobs_Burgers7 Jul 27 '26

Damn you…. I can’t even make a wing that crisp, and I’ve been doing my makeup for over 25years lol

1

u/Eastern_Antelope6072 Jul 27 '26

Cute and the wing is excellent but the look is a bit outdated? Now I think people are doing a bright color over the lids with little to no eyeshadow or a thinner wing. I’d scroll ig/tiktok and find some girlies you want to emulate and see how they’re doing their makeup for inspo!

1

u/tabby90 Jul 27 '26

I wish I could wing like you.

1

u/Brave_Alfalfa7636 Jul 27 '26

The wings on that eyeliner are you actually part bird because…🔥🔥🔥

1

u/karengonz12 Jul 27 '26

Eyeliner is priceless 🥰

1

u/Evening-Candy1487 Jul 27 '26

it’s super hard to get cat eye wings to look even and clean and you fucking NAILED it
