Looks like Sweden's southernmost extremes are only a few kilometres away from being closer to Amsterdam and Warsaw, respectively, than Stockholm, too.

You really notice it when you're in Skåne, the architecture, landscapes, accents even the culture are all much more European/Continental than the rest of Sweden.

As someone who lives there I kinda agree, but at the same time not.
I'd say we're just modern city Swedes without the Stockholm vibe and that's about it.

Can someone help me understand something? When we move from the white 0 territory furthest to the north, directly into 2 territory (the small wedge), which 2 capitals are suddenly closer than Stockholm?

The lines are suspiciously straight.

The straight lines are real. The boundaries are great circles, which happen to look almost straight on this map. I double-checked the geometry. The rendered boundaries deviate by less than 70 meters from the calculated ones, and the actual curves bend by only about 100–285 meters over hundreds of kilometers.

Unrelated but I love how Vietnam's geographical centre is in Laos and Laos' centre is in Thailand

That’s a bit of curse living in Malmö as a foreign citizen. The closest embassy is 40 minutes away but naah, go to Stockholm 7 hours one way

That's a your embassy/country problem - the two I have had to deal with are both "sure, come to Copenhagen".

Gf had to do the 7hr travel to Stockholm instead of 1hr to Copenhagen. :(
She was getting her passport renewed and they refused to do it from the Copenhagen embassy.

What country has territory that is closer to the most number of other countries' capitals than their own? I'm thinking the DRC is a good candidate with Kinshasa all the way to the west and so many other countries bordering it.
