Advice Deconstructing "tolerance"
I have been taking edibles daily and slowly leveling up on the use, averaging about 25 - 35 MG daily. I understand what people mean by tolerance, but I wanted to go a little deeper by what this means.
By "tolerance", I notice that a 5 MG edible hits me the same no matter what - however it's the DURATION that is limited. So same doses always have the same effect, but as tolerance builds, the peak of that high gets shorter in length over time.
More the tolerance = shorter is acuity
phase of the high.
Is this what is meant by tolerance? That it's a matter of diminished duration?

No, not always. Generally speaking, it's a diminution of strength of effect. But everyone's different, so for you it may show up as diminution of duration.

It can be a form of it. Most people wouldn't feel the 5mg at all, But i assume it's like how I get medicated for 30 minutes off a small dab and 2-4 hours off a larger one

If you mean you would like to know more about what is happening at the fundamental level of neurotransmitters and the binding affinity of cannabinoid receptors in tolerance then you should familiarize yourself with the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) and hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axes (plural of axis) and how they relate to the brain gut axis as a whole.
Here is a decent review that is highly cited and contains multiple illustrations that help to understand binding affinity and the complex interactions that take place in the Brain-Gut Axis.
