Midnight Spider-Man Midnight Spider-Man #1- next issue please!
This far exceeded my expectations. 5/5 stars from me , and I honestly thought this one looked the least interesting from the art (body horror is normally not my thing).
But man, this gripped me in from the first sequence and did not stop. What a fantastic and determined take in Peter Parker. What a fresh look at the orgin of Spider-Man. This is the real deal right here. I don't want to risk spoilers , so I will say less. But everyone is in for a treat here. Bring on issue #2!

The way color was used in the storytelling beyond just visual flair is so genius. Notice the color palette changes between “normal” scenes and the horror scenes. Especially the page edges which flip from white to black.

Yes - I was highly impressed with the horror sequences using color pallette to set a tone, rather than just straight gruesomeness. The cover art and variations had me worried it would be hyper realistic art and too much for my stomach, but the I find it to be a nice balance with the art style and body horror.
