Ask him why it costs so much to house homeless people there or where the highspeed train is that they've supposedbly been building for a decade, or why registration for cars in CA is so expensive, or gas, or why theres so much tax.

Ya’ll I be this is old. California did do something, they redrew maps and flipped 5 districts from R to D. Voters willing. Went to the Supreme Court and was upheld as legal since CA followed their laws and constitution.
There was a referendum, legislature passed the law and map to redraw, got sued and went to the US Supreme Court.
