He said on his twitter he was only joking around about hating cats. For some weird reason cat hating was seen as a macho thing in older generations, he might have been embarrassed by this photo lol

I get shit about having three cats from most of my friends. It’s absolutely a thing even if it makes no sense. Cats are true apex predators where dogs are essentially scavengers and opportunists. Pound for pound a cat destroys any dog breed in a fight even.
