Theres better trad bands than ghosts first 3 for sure, but the whole contrarian for the sake of it thing in metal is so sad and self-defeating, rag on their last two all you want but they deff are a patch jacket band wether you like it or not.

I guess I'd listen to Ghost too if my choices were between Sleep Token or that band with 50 members that hasn't put out a good album in 25 years. Extreme metal is cool but Trad metal is amazing as well! I remember watching a video made by Ruthless Metal about new wave of traditional heavy metal and he featured many good bands along with White Wizzard, who I REALLY enjoy.

You’d be surprised. Brian Lew, one of the OG Bay Area bangers who helped create the bay area thrash metal scene, and even ran Megadeth’s first “fan club” from his bedroom fuckin LOVES Ghost. I think he even had a hand in their success like he did with bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Exodus, etc.
I don’t personally enjoy Ghost but some of the old heads definitely do! Ghost as a whole seems hit or miss with people. I think guys from the generation who grew up listening to bands like KISS, and King Diamond probably won’t have a major hate boner for Ghost
